The ineffectuality of the missiles aside, if this truly happened this is an act of agression against His Britannic Majesty's Dominions, so all moral and, importantly, legal scrupals His Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom have melt away. Cc @sargo_dy

According to the Wall Street Journal, citing multiple U.S. officials, Iran has targeted the joint U.S.-UK base at Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean with two intermediate-range ballistic missiles (IRBM). According to the report, one missile failed in flight whilst the other was

This is why I supported Brexit. The EU was how the British elite imagined they could maintain their global relevance, and why they long so desperately to return.

Secrets of Privacy | Make Yourself a Harder Target
This is the part of the age verification debate that more people are waking up to. Not whether kids should be protected (they should). Whether uploading your ID and face to access a weather app is a smart way to do it.

Now that Trump is considering leaving NATO — This is when… NATO Chief Mark Rutte told Europe… "If anyone thinks here that the European Union or Europe as a whole can defend itself without the U.S., keep on dreaming. You can’t! We cant. We need each other.”

I'm not sure what's funnier. David believing the Europeans would actually put effort into their own defense, or that "blowing up runways" would do anything to stop the United States military in such a scenario.

This is at 1% of the US population. Are you able to extrapolate to what happens when that number reaches 5%? 10%? 20%? Keep burying your head in the sand.

Europe’s performance in this shitshow is the real plot twist nobody saw coming. “Not our war,” they whine from their cushy NATO umbrella, fingers firmly crossed behind their backs. Sure,,,until Iranian drones start buzzing over Cyprus or the Strait of Hormuz turns into a parking

Maybe that's because the EU has treated themselves as a geopolitical rival of the United States throughout both Trump terms and were closer to neutral than anything during Biden. Or maybe it's the continual abandonment of anything that was once western values. Or maybe...

@BearFlagFan @bonchieredstate How are the wasp class LCDs getting to Kharg, are they going to teleport past Hormuz? Or just run the gauntlet? You would think that the Department of War and Special Military Operations might have moved some into position before they attacked Iran, now it seems a bit late

@bonchieredstate If there’s an invasion on Kharg, it will likely come from an MEF that will arrive on Wasp-class LCDs (which are mini-carriers) via landing craft, V22 Osprey’s and helicopters, with CAS from F-35s and Harriers, all of which can land and take off vertically. Does Frum know the

An important factor in the Hormuz situation is that under maritime law Iran is not "allowed" to close the strait, doing so is an act of war by Iran against the flags of the ships attacked or interdicted, and the US is not responsible or at fault for Iran's actions.

This IMHO is the most important post of the month. Read it, reread it, then take notes. RULES OF ENGAGEMENT RULES OF ENGAGEMENT RULES OF ENGAGEMENT Why was @secwar able to hermetically seal the southern border, eliminate crime in DC, arrest Maduro, and sink the entire Iranian

@NicoPerrino I agree there is an inherent tension between the concept of a nation state regulating what happens within its borders and things on the internet that are accessible everywhere but the State has the right and responsibility to try and protect its people, especially its children

The internet must be free. 4Chan is an American company with no assets in the UK. Its only content regulator is the First Amendment. The Brits don’t get to colonize American companies operating out of America. See Declaration of Independence, American Revolution, etc.
