Montreal’s biggest issue is they are insanely soft, and I fear they’ll get exposed in the playoffs. Hopefully Anderson and Dach are back, Xhekaj should be a regular over Struble or Carrier and Blais should be up there on the 4th line by then.

@Okee1010 @HabsOnReddit At 220 career games played in the NHL with little or no improvement, that is the honest truth. He's had plenty of opportunity to secure his spot in the lineup but hasn't shown the ability to play consistently at as an NHL caliber D man.

@scottacampbell6 @EricEngels Which play did he make that was so bad? He had a few hits, a few shots, won puck battles and made some good forward passes. One error here and there means he doesn’t see ice anymore? I’ve never seen him make the kind of egregious bad plays that MM, AC or JS make

@bighabsguy @EricEngels I think AX is needed for the playoffs. It's hard to have him improve with limited minutes. However he was pretty noticeable - in a bad way- in the game he played last weekend.

@bighabsguy @EricEngels I had hopes that Arber would turn into a Ben Chiarot , Joel Edmundson or a Brendan Dillon type D . After 200 plus games the improvement in decision making hasn’t occurred, I love to have his toughness but I don’t see a future for him in Mtl with 48/21/8 ahead of him and Engstrom

@bighabsguy @PierreLucMathi1 C'mon. Guhle has sucked. And as much as I love Arber. His development has totally stalled. He is terrible right now. Matheson is 100% deserving his minutes. Which as I proved, are not 30/game. He's been fantastic this year. One glaring gaffe and everyone is hysterical.

@SpartanNewsman @PierreLucMathi1 Furthermore, that “one glaring gaffee” is not his only mistake ever. It’s part of a series of mistakes that someone with his tenure and contract should not be making on a consistent basis. He’s a momentum killer and is often the reason the Habs fall short

His top season was the year before LH got here and since then he’s been trying 2 do things way beyond his means almost if 2 show that he can do what LH does 2. It’s embarrassing and not derserving of the ext he got.

@PatrickET Exactly. I would argue thag AX would not struggle if given more. He actually plays very well and if let off his very short leash MSL has him on for whatever reason he could actually play his game and be a really good D for this team

Why are people married to the idea that Matheson is the only guy to “eat” minutes? Hutson, Dobson and Guhle can all play top minutes effortlessly. Giving Xhekaj 5 minutes a night is stupid. If Xhekaj and Struble struggle (which they do) then give Engstrom some reps.

AX can be a solid physical shut down D that can also move the puck and blast shots from the blue line. Just because MSL feels like he can’t rely on him doesn’t make it true

Reasons MM plays 24m: LH is playing RD, KG has been horrible, and 72/47 are unreliable. + MM is easily a 2nd pair LD on the Ave's eg. Need another RD, then everything falls into place giving us LH/MM/KD on left side.

You can’t tell me he’s better than LH, KG or ND, yet get more mins than all of them. This coach has his favourites, for whatever reason, and it will be to the detriment to the team
