@JackFritzWIP Your top pitcher is a stiff, your top OF doesn’t play everyday and the top IF can’t swing a bat. They were all overvalued which means the other guys are far less coveted.

I think there's a little too much fear-mongering about the Phillies farm system. If they wanted, Gage Wood could highlight any package for one of the big players at the deadline (I don't think he's on the table unless Buxton is available). Renteria and Aidan are untouchable for me. Marquez is close too. Nori, Aroon, Obermueller, Fisher, Burkholder, Pan, Bowker, McFarlane, Ferrebus, Parra, Rincon and Heredia all would have value in trades.

I truly can’t believe people are interested in Matt Chapman for this team He has 4yrs $100m left for his age 34-37 seasons Do you really think that’s helpful for this team? Yes I get the defensive upgrade, but he’s only slightly better than Bohm at the dish

@TheGoodPhight He’s not even an upgrade on defense. 106 errors in 10 years. 59 errors in 7 years for Bohm. Bohm is a .280 ish career hitter. Chapman is .250 He isn’t an upgrade at all.

@JohnBolaris He is one year out from Tommy John surgery. It often takes until year two before a pitcher feels right. It is good for his mental state to work this out at the Iron Pigs.

Painter is NOT a starter . He can’t go through a line-up more than once . He needs to work on his two best pitches in the minors & come back as a reliever . Because now he has been exposed & his trade value has diminished .. Ask J.T

@jawn_kruk Yes the fans who wanted him up last year got what they wanted. He wasn’t ready then and he isn’t ready now. Nothing he did last summer showed he was ready for the MLB. Growing pains were inevitable but this isn’t just growing pains.

The fans got what they wanted, and Painter is getting what he has BEEN needing, so now the question is, who fills that spot? We shall see. #RingTheBell

2/5 games a week are automatic losses and the front office literally does not care at all Painter and Nola are just as bad if not worse than Walker

I tweeted earlier that they should bring up Gage Wood. Radical, yes, and so un- Phillies like but I’d do it. I’m sure they can find somebody slumming in the minors who can pitch to a sub 7.00 ERA, 12.50 ERA in last 4 starts

I think, for his sake, Painter needs to be sent down. Nothing positive is going to come from him being lit up start after start. This is hard to watch.

@CogginToboggan And sending him down won’t help. He did the same in Lehigh Valley last summer. Only difference was the hitters weren’t as good. He got hit hard down there also

I'm no professional baseball scout, but I think it's pretty easy these days for hitters to crush 95 MPH fastballs with no movement right down the heart of the plate.

Have preached patience with Andrew Painter, but it is mid-June now, and it is only getting worse. #Phillies have to send him down and look to make some sort of acquisition. At this point, you cannot kill Painter's confidence by keeping him in the majors anymore.

Yeah I’ve been one of the biggest proponents of staying patient with Painter, but he has to be sent down. There’s no growth happening. He’s getting shelled and not making it three innings anymore. He’s still young and there’s a lot to like long term, but not right now.

Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert both signed their contract extensions the same offseason as Jalen Hurts in 2023. All 3 contracts were 5 year deals. Hurts has been to another Super Bowl and won it during the time since. Why isn't anybody asking if their respective teams are “in” on them or why their teams haven’t extended them yet?
