@PizzaSteve5000 @HollanderAdam Utter nonsense. Teams should come to the market WITH a product. Free Market dynamics decide the valuation. Far less speculative action in secondary then. And a lot less fud.

Here's the thing about CryptoUndeads.
Dollar did a huge amount right with this project. He involved/engaged tons of communities. The marketing was textbook brilliant for a new collection. As a bonus, he operated with true integrity when there was a problem, which is rare to see in our space.
But I've said this for a long time: one of the biggest problems with NFTs today is that the majority of people buying them purchase purely to speculate/gamble, not because they actually "want" the product.
In this particular case, there actually was no product at the time of purchase. No one had any idea what they were buying. There was no art shared ahead of time. There was no roadmap of utility. It was a complete black box. So instead of "most" people buying to speculate/gamble, "all" of the buyers were in this category.
Now you have a situation where many took their free money immediately. That's good for Dollar. It's positive for people who don't want to be part of the project to cycle out. However, unfortunately, now he has a whole new set of holders, most of whom are still gambling, who have an even higher expectations of where price needs to go in order to win. And that means when price goes down, they're going to get angry. Because in our space, most people don't know how to take responsibility for their own gambling. We're a giant casino where the players think they own part of the building and yell at the dealers when the dice don't land on their numbers.
This isn't to say CryptoUndeads can't be successful. The team has plans to share what their product actually is. And at that point, maybe people will genuinely want it. But it's going to be difficult to recapture the mint hype - and even more so to appease those who bought in at hyped prices.
Rooting for them - because we should "want" all projects with genuine builders and intentions to succeed.

@HollanderAdam what they did isn’t called marketing.. it’s creating FOMO. You “market” a product or at the very least a prototype, talking about the problems it solves. This method of asking people to buy a “black box” is only going to result in speculation. What do you expect?
English

@0xQuit @PixSorcerer But what if you had given permissions to Dex dapps for ERC20 tokens? Wouldn’t those permissions also leave you similarly vulnerable?
English

@Jasbenben @zachxbt That’s an utterly ridiculous statement to make. Accountability is not the same as “getting cancelled”. Also, respect isn’t the same as power.
