@AndyMasley @bdglacierguy Yes, some people are putting blame for *all* of the pollution on data centers, the most recent entrant. But let's not pretend the new entrant is not making things worse. And enormous data centers in places that already have other water-hungry industry, are especially hard hit.

@AndyMasley @bdglacierguy The point is that you are constantly moving the goalposts. First it was "No data center has made the drinkable water of the surrounding water dirty." then it was "That can happen with any large building." When the data center *is* on and polluting more you will move them again.

I think I've typed 500 replies to this exact same story to say the exact same thing: "The data center wasn't operational when this happened, this is from construction. That can happen with any large building." It's crazy how popular this story is vs how few read it at all.

@rooteruditorum @IhabHassane @BarakRavid Nope, that is just not matched at all in reality. The terrorism is wrong, the settlers should be arrested, imprisoned and treated like the terrorists that they are. But it is not ethnic cleansing or a genocide. but you do you.

I have been reporting on and documenting settler terrorism in the West Bank for three years, and I have never seen anything like this. Tonight’s major pogrom across the West Bank was highly organized and fully backed by the Israeli government and the Israeli army. It did not happen in a vacuum -- it was fueled by incitement from Israel’s Finance Minister, Bezalel Smotrich, and other Israeli Knesset members. If this tells us anything, it is that this is not the peak; it is a warning of something far worse that may soon unfold in the West Bank: Genocide and ethnic cleansing.

@Glenn_Diesen In Germany you could terminate any discussion just by saying your opponent was a nazi. The word nazi now has been used so many times that it lost any effect. The international equivalent of nazi is antisemitic. It's a way to shut down a discussion when you ran out of arguments

I live in Nigeria, religious tensions are already high - there's not much more room for "further exacerbation". That angle doesn't bother many Nigerians. What bothers us, is whether these actions can actually solve the problem. There are grounds to doubt the Nigerian Government's sincerity and resolve in combating violent extremism - and if the Nigerian Government isn't sincere about this, there's little outsiders can do to help.
