I went to the exact same location of the Cybertruck accident shown in the Fox News video. This is the US-69/59 Eastex Freeway northbound HOV lane at the Y-split near the Eastex Park & Ride exit (approaching from downtown Houston toward Humble). In the Fox News video, the vehicle failed to follow the right curve, going straight into the barrier. Well, I tested it twice today with Tesla FSD engaged the entire time with zero human intervention. And unless you think I am a hologram speaking to you from another dimension now, it worked out really well. Here is the video of me taking the exact same curve twice, with Tesla FSD v14.2.2.5.

@AndyZeGerman Thank you, I think you have an excellent idea that should be very easy for Tesla to implement, some announcement (more than a subtle ding) along with a big screen visual that clearly indicates FSD has disengaged.

I will get a ton of blowback for what I am about to say, but here goes. I have let people use FSD on all of my Teslas since I first got it. Over all the years I have seen the same issue over and over again. When they are unfamiliar, they did not notice when it disengaged. The sound of disengagement is not very loud and can easily be missed, when inexperienced. I am not saying that Tesla was at fault, but it would be nice to have a default setting and clear voice and visual announcement, that FSD has been disengaged. Have said so in my live streams as well. Then there could be an advanced setting where you turn that "off" to basically what it is right now. It can be missed for beginners, as some touch the wheel or tap the brakes, not knowing that they actually disengaged. Again, I said what I said, but if you disagree, I ask you to let some none Tesla drivers drive your car.
Sawyer Merritt@SawyerMerritt

UPDATE: Elon Musk says the driver of this Cybertruck disengaged Autopilot four seconds before crashing, which means the driver was manually driving during this entire clip that Fox shared. Elon: "As anyone knows who uses it, that video is not how Autopilot drives."

@JoshWest247 I was a very early (February 2018) Model 3 owner, thought I would need a second display, nope, not needed at all.

As a Model S and Model X owner, I really enjoy having two displays. It’s cool to see Rivian included to displays in the R2. I think customers were really enjoy that. There are many Model 3 & Y owners who are turning to the aftermarket world to add a driver centric display and thankfully, there are some good options.

@JonBbC_TechGeek As you said this is a nav/mapping issue which Tesla has not addressed these issues yet. Now I don't know about you but I see humans do this every day. That's why I curse when driving, FSD or not.

I’ll be going on a 560 mile roadtrip across 10 hours today in my friend’s 2026 Model Y. Let’s see if FSD can do it without any input. Just for the record, we had to take over yesterday in Chicago due to an issue that’s been persistent for a very long time. Video below & quite disappointing it’s still an issue.

Sprinkle of Cybertruck FSD mishaps. FSD v14.2.2.5. This one is from my live stream yesterday. I had the navigation set to go to the arrival parking deck while I was driving (watch the entire stream if you don't believe me). For whatever reason, FSD must have thought that I was on a different elevation or so. It was slowing down to a point that I had to push the pedal or else it would have just stopped on the lane. It may be hard to see, but if you are using FSD, then you know how things feel like when it comes the force of a slow down.

Update on my Tesla Model Y saga, y'all ☕ Feb 18: Took a demo drive "just to see." Went home and ordered one like a man with absolutely no chill. Posted about have amazing it was.. @elonmusk and @Tesla quoted it! Feb 20: Order placed. Told myself I'd be patient. I was not patient. Feb 28: VIN assigned! I may have done a small victory lap. Mar 9: VIN vanished. Manufacturing gremlins won. Viictory lap cancelled. Mar 13: App says "Vehicle in transit." I refreshed it 47 times… patience has left the building. Mar 14: Finally an actualy delivery window of Mar 26–31. It's official. The car exists. It's headed my way. Meanwhile, my garage looks like a Tesla accessory warehouse exploded with more packages on the way... Damn you Amazon and Tesla shop! All for a car I don't technically have yet. 😂

@DillonLoomis Dillon, cool your jets. We know it isn't solved but even now it's game changing. The world doesn't know how good it is yet, let us sing.

I'm one of the biggest Tesla fans around. But can we stop saying FSD is solved. Please We have one Unsupervised Robotaxi in one small geofence in a geofence with limited operating hours. That is not "solved" Ashok helping to oversee Macrohard to get things sorted out does not mean FSD is solved. It means Elon wants his brilliant mind to speedrun getting xAI back on track and integrated with Tesla's team, structure and tools Does Tesla internally have 14.3 waiting in the wings to launch with Cybercab next month that will scale and "solve" it? Possibly Do I think Tesla is going to "solve" FSD soon. Of course But until that actually happens and we move beyond one Unsupervised Robotaxi, let's relax and not exaggerate data points for clicks $TSLA

@DillonLoomis Many of us living in Austin use FSD v14 every day (not just in the geofenced area). Tesla could let unsupervised Robotaxi happen. Don 't do it however because there is so much Elon hate here that if even a signpost got bumped it would be bad news. 14 crash BS.

On the state of Tesla's Robotaxi/Ridehail: • I've been banging the drum about this for years - Tesla's north star is actually safety. Until every conceivable edge case (within reason) is being handled confidently, FSD won't scale • Tesla could easily scale right now if it wanted to. Those of us that use it know that outside of navigation/speed/parking annoyances, it's incredible and very safe, safer than most humans. The problem is that every mistake will be amplified and become global news • If Tesla had even a fraction of the documented problems and poor behavior that Waymo had, the service would likely be shut down temporarily by NHTSA due to public/political backlash. Waymo gets white glove treatment and the public doesn't care, this is not the case with Tesla • Whether Tesla starts scaling in April this year or September this year will not matter one bit in the long run • Once Tesla solves it, truly solves it, it will be largely solved everywhere (at least in the states) • If 14.3, the model with more reasoning, does actually have 10x the parameters, it will likely take awhile to test and refine before release. This is likely happening now • The Autopilot team's shift of focus to agentic AI with xAI until the teams are in place and reshuffled could certainly be a reason for the 14.3 delay • Respectfully, if your conclusion is really that Tesla doesn't have the tools to solve FSD and scale, you should not own $TSLA

BREAKING: @GretaThunberg just eviscerated "the pedophile" Donald Trump and warned the world about what he's doing in Cuba. "As the Trump administration is waging illegitimate wars across the world, killing countless people, it is also strangling the Cuban people, deliberately, methodically and openly. The pedophile Trump, himself, bragged about it… He said it like it was something to be proud of."

@mrfundman Simple, the majority of Tesla owners either don't know about FSD or tried some crappy untrustworthy version of it (or autopilot) in the past. Most have never experienced current FSD. Offering a free month won't change things. Here is the damn answer, listen, look, ADEVERTIZING.

Any ideas why half the Cybercab light bar is burnt out or deactivated? No, it was not flickering. I watched it all the way down the street and the right side was off.

@Imp3ri4ll @the7maxims Check your car, look at the speedometer, bet it shows a capability of at least 100 MPH. Acceleration is rarely what kills, speed is what kills. All cars can be deadly if driven irresponsibly but if you are in an accident, you are safer in a Tesla.

My kid is a rising senior. We’re looking at cars for her. She asked to look at the new Broncos… 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 $35000 & up. I decided to look at a RAV4 thinking I could find something less than $20000. They’re $30000 plus. I guess entry level vehicles are a thing of the past.

@DevinOlsenn @JoshWest247 Yes, but from my perspective it doesn't matter. I just want supervised FSD to be exactly as good as unsupervised. Fine with supervising from the driver's seat, keeping my insurance, no need for new regulations, and never using my car in the robo fleet.
