@talkSPORT hi guys, it was 1977, I'm 7 years old kicking ball in the back yard. My mam & dad are watching the Liverpool/United FANS Cup Final on TV. Large argument ensued over the game, I went in, sided with my mother. Been a Liverpool fan ever since #weirdstoriesfootball

@DamienRatchford @John32926220 @KateGleeson1 Stay in your "rugby" lane. No Gaa in Ireland is a money maker, every penny raised goes to upkeep of facilities, pitches. Do you think the club ground is just there and costs nothing. Gaa clubs costs are €100k per year.

The GAA is making enough money as it is… charging loyal supporters €15 a match or €95 a season on GAA+ is a joke. Fans already pay club memberships, match tickets, and TV licences/subscriptions… now we’ve to pay again just to watch our county? Monetising loyalty. No surprise there. @GAAPlusOfficial #GAA

@willocallaghan Who is ready for that basket case club. The owners haven't a Scooby Doo of how to run a football club. Lopsided squad. Trigger happy board who can't stay away from the football side. FPP going hit soon

The perils of multi-club ownership, but feel for Liam Rosenior a bit. Was doing a decent job at Strasbourg and building his profile, and now he’ll be known as the guy who wasn’t ready for the Chelsea job.

@RTEgaa This isindicative of "all" GAA associations who have tied themselves to ridiculous fixtures plans with no latitude for games being called due to bad weather or god forbid replays so the onus is on to the Associations to get the games played at all costs, players don't matter

With images circulating as to the state of the pitch for the Centra Camogie League clash between Clare and Wexford at Parteen-Meelick on Saturday, RTÉ Sport understands that the surface was deemed playable by officials in advance of the game #rtesport rte.ie/sport/camogie/…

@ConorMoran1 @willocallaghan Still should not have had a game played on it yesterday! Why was there no dressing room or showers made available?

@willocallaghan It’s the best pitch in Clare Will, I live next door to it and there’s training and matches going on the last number of weeks when other pitches were deemed unplayable. The groundskeeper does Trojan work year round.

🇮🇪 Ireland - January 24th 2026 African migrant jailed for 5 and half years for leading a violent gang raid on an Athlone student house while wearing a devil mask and wielding a two-foot machete. The gang of four fled minutes later as the “main protagonist”, Quintan Ncube, 24, who was brandishing a two-foot blade, shouted, “Fuck, wrong house”. Zimbabwe-born Ncube, of no fixed address, and business student Oluwadamilare Adeniyi, 20, of Church Hills Road, Coosan, Athlone, Co Westmeath, both pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary where masked raiders ransacked the house on April 19, 2024.
