PCOS is being renamed to PMOS. (Polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome) The change comes from experts that say the old name was misleading, stating that it inaccurately suggested ovarian cysts as a defining feature.

Girl so true. My first clue to birth control not being helpful at all when my OB tried to prescribe it to me was that once I stop taking it my hormones will be unbalanced again. I was like well then wtf is the point of taking it?? I had to fix my metabolism which led me to balancing my hormones all on my own.

ADHD often hides behind preparation that people never see. Things like planning what to say, staying on track, and managing distractions don't happen automatically, so the brain compensates by rehearsing to avoid losing the thread or saying the "wrong" thing. By the time you're actually having the conversation, it can look smooth on the outside, but that's only because of all the effort that happened beforehand.

I’m in a Facebook group of parents of matriculating college freshpersons and every day or so there’s something like this; it is INCONCEIVABLE that either of my parents would have given five percent of this much of a shit about something like this

Lots of people are finding this redundant but actually it is helpful and a step in the right direction. I have PCOS and it took me years to be diagnosed because I don’t have the polycystic ovaries component of the diagnosis.

As I’ve said in other replies, I am typically covered from collarbone to toe. Arguing that you get to ogle at my body because it exists is extremely low iq. But if you’re gonna look then i might as well walk around naked right? What’s the point of wearing clothing if you’re going to perv at me? Right?

some neurodivergent folks downfall is thinking being intelligent means they are able to do the work to heal their own trauma. awareness has nothing to do with being able to treat yourself. go to therapy and sometimes shut up.
