A coworker got a performance improvement plan out of nowhere. No prior warnings, no conversations, no feedback. Just a document with 30 days to improve things nobody had ever told her were problems. She asked when these issues had been raised before. Her manager said "we've been noticing it for a while." She asked why nobody said anything. Silence. She hired a lawyer that afternoon.

Even Dave Ramsay says your finances should be shared completely after marriage - they always leave out WHY you would do that. On it's own it's a horrific deal. It wasn't until recently that anyone even said this out loud. "I don't know who would take this" is obvious when the unspoken is spoken. I'm glad it is now.

I didn’t expect this but Americans are ridiculously good at small talk. In the UK if a stranger starts chatting to you, you immediately assume they want something or want to rob you. Here people are just… nice?

@yousuckass63590 @DemonFramed They’re fools for not hiring grads even if they do jump ship. They’re extremely reliable, interesting to talk to and competent. We had a few when I was there and you never had to worry about calls outs or ghetto behavior.

Many aren't just refusing to work, it's either lack of employment or lack of varied employment while dealing with an 8%+ unemployment rate. Even internships are now dime a dozen. Where entry level roles are drying up. Then if you're a new graduate, minimum wage jobs see you as a risk, that'll jump ship when a better offer happen. So then you're not hired for those simple ass jobs either.

The younger generation refuses to work because there is no reason to. Back then there was a reason. One income bought a house. One income supported a family. College didn’t chain you to decades of debt. Hard work actually moved you forward. Today? You work 40 hours a week to rent a $2000/monthly apartment you’ll never own. You save money while inflation steals it. You contribute to Social Security knowing it might not exist in 10 years. You compete with AI, outsourcing, and thousands of applicants for jobs that don’t pay enough to survive. It’s better to be unemployed.
