If Karl-Anthony Towns was drafted to a better situation I really think we’d be talking about him like a generational talent. The player that would’ve filled the gap between LeBron and Wembanyama as a raw talent. This playoff run made me view him in a completely different light.

The Knicks pounced at a perfect time for the stretch 5 archetype, and got a star level one in Towns. They shift up the defense, and come playoffs make scoring 10x easier Contenders like the Raptors obviously see this, and getting Turner would do wonders for their roster construction. I kinda agree with that.
It wouldn't change the game at all if the clock was just stopped, so there is not really a negative effect of doing it.
On the positive side the simple rule "oh they are in the 80th minute, so I can go to bed in 14 minutes" would finally hold again.

It's funny that people talk about Pele winning three World Cups and forget that he only played in the first two group games in 1962, didn't play the rest of the tournament which Brazil won without him and he wasn't given a medal for that World Cup. He was only recognized as having won two World Cups for decades because FIFA's rules at the time were very clear that only the 11 players who started the final got medals and were recognized as World Cup winners.
He was gifted the Golden Ball for 1970 as well. He wasn't even Brazil's best player at the competition, let alone the best in the tournament. He was very good but Rivellino, Jairzinho, Muller, and Rivera were unquestionably better.
