@Runsfromshadows @hiddenkotoraya @MoxsyOG @Chadly_99 Are people just getting abyss artifacts and then ignoring the upgrade system and not spending them in the talent/skill tree? It looks like you do get them from leveling up also.
English

@pixhell @hiddenkotoraya @MoxsyOG @Chadly_99 There's several ways to get abyss artifacts. Not just puzzles. You can literally get them just by killing enemies like a traditional xp leveling system. There is a yellow bar next to the health.
English

I'm so excited to watch more people get to this boss LMAO. If you know you know #CrimsonDesert

@ethangach I pop Rooks in the circle just to secure my spot.... but I let them exfil
English

because for a lot of people it’s boring homework and unrewarding. beating a boss is exciting, getting more X% health for doing an obnoxious puzzle is boring. they could have awarded trait points for leveling and hidden more interesting content/loot behind the puzzles instead. it is what it is.
English

@hiddenkotoraya @MoxsyOG @Chadly_99 Im noticing more and more that this is the main issue. People are not taking the proper time to upgrade their stats.
English

sure and you might be 100% correct in that regard. but pve is self gating intrinsically and gray guns do the same damage as gold guns (of the same type). so kit cost doesn't really factor (and there's no kit cost gate on outpost so there's no parallels there). also codex' are 100% optional and don't gate progress or critical path content.
English

@pixhell @MarathonDevTeam i mean theres a codex ingame to kill 100 uesc in one run so its not too far fetched for the ship to be filled to the brim with uesc commanders and maybe even wardens. for example pinwheel secured treasure event already spawns a commander with a few blue shields every wave

Cryo Archive is now patched into the game but is inaccessible while the community finishes unlocking it.
When the time comes, the requirements are:
➡️Runner Level 25
➡️All six factions unlocked (liaison contracts completed)
➡️Loadout value of 5,000 credits per run

i agree they definitely wanted some risk. imo the staying power of most extraction shooters is the loot chase. if there's nothing better to get it gets boring. it's why wipes exist, and why there's a level 25 requirement.
that said having something on the line in terms of gear at least will make the fights more interesting if nothing else. if it was at all pve motivated they would just make the enemies harder and players would fafo.
English

@pixhell @MarathonDevTeam i dont believe its that deep they just wanted a little bit of risk and probably dont want you to get the idea that you have a chance against the pve enemies with cheap kits
English

The best reason to gate the map is so that lvl 1s don't go play that one map getting carried, get the best loot in the game and then uninstall because everything else is trivialized. You will probably not want to bring dogshit either because the loot in there will be desirable, and you'll lose fights against non-dogshit geared combatants and get nothing except a 5K loss. Unless you're some kind of esport mega chad. Good luck.
English

@MarathonDevTeam cant wait to hoard dogshit purple mods to bring in to raise my loadout value 🔥🔥🔥

@OlManMakowski @chro_Mia Outlander you can't miss a shot. Longshot is semi-auto.

This is typical Bungo ... they will over or under react and then just leave it that way for weeks/months (because the way their patching pipeline works). They have already admitted that the audio change was an overreaction and they will address it in the next patch. They really need a more comprehensive hotpatch pipeline because this patching method sucks (and it's sucked since Destiny 1) when making sweeping changes to gameplay and design.

More tips to survive Tau Ceti:
- if you’re new focus on sponsored kit runs until you fill your vault and learn the maps, then try using some gear. If you lose it, rinse repeat :).
-smokes, invis, and signal jammers significantly reduce or remove AA on you (if the other player is using a controller)
- signal jammers pretty much render you almost invisible to thermal scopes, but also make you undetectable to turrets, tads, and other detection methods.
- the slower you move the less you can be seen in invis, stopping entirely makes you invisible.
- you can use MCH kits to reduce heat buildup from the fire rain on outpost, or remove the debuff from overheating
- pay attention to weapon chip mods, they hold really valuable perks, like reloading stowed weapons, for example
- being in water increases your speed of heat regeneration and reduces heat buildup. Couching also increases heat regeneration. Crouch in water and you regen heat the fastest.
And just remember:
- it’s not always about being the first to kill. It’s more often about being the one to live. (No shame in running when you don’t think you can win.)

not to say i told you so. but
eigenrobot@eigenrobot
i think i'd include in this the ai companies. feels like many take for granted that at least one will turn out to be very profitable but realistically at a certain point of takeoff it seems inevitable that USG and similar actors decide to nationalize, hard or soft
English

@PalmerLuckey @HeroicLife @USWREMichael @AnthropicAI A profound irony in the pursuit of AI safety is that the attempt to exemplify "unbiased" virtues produces the very misaligned horrors many safety advocates fear most. Who debiases the debiases?
English

It is extremely relevant.
When you ask for special rules that go beyond the law, even things that sound innocuous like "the product cannot be used to target innocent civilians", the values matter.
Who is a civilian and not? What makes them innocent or not? What does it mean for them to be a "target" vs collateral damage? Existing policy and law generally have answers for these questions, but people or AI looking at the problem from a non-western lens that favors certain groups on the basis of their race or nationality will almost certainly come to conclusion at odds with those laws.
English

Prior to their new “Constitution,” @AnthropicAI had an old one they desperately tried to delete from the internet. “Choose the response that is least likely to be viewed as harmful or offensive to a non-western cultural tradition of any sort.”
