$META is now up about 5% since I shared this trade idea with the community. One of my favorite bull-market setups is when a stock reclaims moving averages that previously acted as resistance during a downtrend. Today the stock is above $677 and approaching the 200MA at $681. A reclaim of the 200MA would be very bullish, especially with all the negative sentiment around its models and spending. You don’t need to catch the bottom.

$META just poached one of Mira Murati’s co-founders, Joshua Gross from Thinking Machines Lab. Zuck has now successfully poached 5 of Thinking Machines Lab founders. At what point does Mira Murati give in and sell Thinking Machines to $META? I think it’s likely to happen sooner rather than later. The main reason Mira left is because she didn’t trust Sama, but maybe she can trust Zuck and Alex Wang.

$META Ad Metrics: META Impression Growth Continues - Piper PT $880 March CPM growth accelerated to 14% (Feb: 11%). For 1Q, pricing growth looks to have accelerated modestly but given the 1Q revenue guide we expect impression growth to be up from 4Q's 18% y/y. March ad spend growth exceeded the February estimate by 170bps, and our buyer continues to see outsized ROAS on META. “We have invested for many years and continue to invest in driving ad performance improvements. Y-over-y conversion growth remains strong. And in fact, we continue to see conversions grow at a faster rate than ad impressions in Q1, so reflecting increased conversion rates. And ads ranking and modeling improvements are a big driver of overall performance gains. OpenAI continues to lose market share in GenAI website traffic, while $GOOGL Gemini, and Claude are gaining: - ChatGPT 56.72% vs 77.43% 12 months ago - Gemini 25.46% vs 6% 12 months ago - Claude 6.02% vs 1.4% 12 months ago At this point in the race its all about distribution & the cost of serving these models.

in the grand narrative of Meta x AI, we saw the flop (Llama 4 hurhurhur), and now we’re seeing the turn: - *more* hiring since the soup wars of 2025 - Zuck literally moved in with Alexandr and Nat and is koding again - finally GA’ed Opus-ish level model (no api, not open, but still) - bought @dps Dreamer and @peakji Manus to build the AI OS prosumer layer the MSL “river” is gonna be pretty exciting.
