@SW_Help It’s every day. Is there a policy of not enforcing this in which.case why have it? It would be very easy to enforce at Waterloo if staff were instructed to.

@SW_Help @swtrains_watch why doesn’t SWR enforce bike rules in rush hour? Just boarded 1815 Waterloo - Fareham. Counted 3 full size bikes boarding. Asked a platform attendant why rules aren’t enforced - shrugged his shoulders. Train now full and standing.

@JoumannaTV BA flew a empty plane to Muscat. Not sure if they are going to bus their UAE passengers to Muscat or wait till airspace opens up.

@elaine_shannan At present I cannot see any problem affecting flights from the Saudi capital to the UK – beyond Virgin Atlantic cancelling its flights on Sunday/Monday. The standard routing that many carriers are following to avoid the Gulf involves flying over Saudi Arabia. SC

@SimonCalder what would be the best route getting from Riyadh to London not going via Doha and other closed airspace’s? I appreciate any help you must be very busy

It’s Tuesday and now multiple cancellations and short formations / delays on Portsmouth direct line. It was obvious to anybody that this would happen this week. Why no prearranged bus replacements, why no contingency plans (shuttle services, longer trains) etc etc?? Any contingency plans for tomorrow?

It’s Monday and sure enough we have signalling issues on the Portsmouth line. Why is this so predictable to everybody except seemingly SWR? Is there have no contingency in place? It will be the same all week so at what point do SWR become proactive and organise alternatives ahead of time.

@Mtsensk @SW_Help @swtrains_watch @Heidi_Labour Waterloo Portsmouth via Guildford. 1700 5 coaches instead of 10. 1715 cancelled (all stations Guildford to Hilsea. Everyone can see it coming except it seems SWR. @SW_Help When will we have a minimal service back again?

Yesterday guy happily puts his full size bike across the 3 seats then takes another seat of his own in the carriage main section. 4 for the price of one in rush hour. Multiple other ticket holders have to stand. I get it, ideally there would be space for all but there simply isn’t and abuse of cycle policy like this should be a fine like fare dodging is.

@SW_Help @swtrains_watch @Heidi_Labour in addition to the reduced SWR timetable published for July and August there are other peak services that seem to be now short formed daily eg 1745 London Portsmouth 5 coaches again today.. Of course full and standing. Do you have a list of these additional daily cancellations? Also why don’t you enforce bicycle policy and prevent full sized bicycles on rush hour trains as per your published policy - particularly when you know they are going to be overcrowded?? 3 additional people could sit down in this carriage if you enforced that.

@IanSargeant2 @SW_Help @swtrains_watch so actually the service reduction is peak and off peak - presumably this is why the total resistance to publish clearly all the changes in one place?

@SW_Help The 704 also has a habit of being half sized twice a week One would hope that with the reduction in services and the greater number of passengers getting this service we see a full 8 coaches every day..........

@SW_Help hello there's no 634 from hinchley wood to waterloo this morning - and no 701 HYW to Guildford either. How come?

Newly nationalised SWR are initiating a 'Summer Timetable' i.e. pre-planned cancellations to deal with staff absences and to presumably reduce compensation for cancellations. It isn't easy to see the scale of the reduction as there is not a single list - you have to look at journey planner apps to spot the services that are missing. I thought better cheaper services were promised.

Weekend rail cancellations: Hull Trains has cancelled 30% of its trains serving London on Friday due to a strike by train drivers. Great Western Railway, which serves holiday destinations in the west of England, will cancel some trains on Sunday 27 July because of staff shortage.

@SW_Help @swtrains_watch I have a question: what is the budget set aside for delay repay annually by SWR? The published figures (available up until 31/3/25) show a peak monthly repay of £924k on Nov/Dec 2024. June and July figures this year will be very interesting.

Can we have the opposite when more travellers are looking to travel and get back to pre Covid levels? It’s only in school holidays when it’s possible to get a seat on peak trains. Such pre-planning would be admirable when services should be increased as opposed to just when you want to reduce services (more).

@SW_Help @swtrains_watch Is there an itemised list of services that are being reduced over the summer? Checking individual journeys isn’t helpful and is very time consuming, especially as multiple routes affected serve my station. If not why doesn’t this exist?

The problem is that this is just this weekend’s set of issues. Over June and July there have been multiple service failures included repeated signalling issues and peak time cancellations on the Portsmouth line seemingly whenever the temperature increases above 25. I can remember very few issue free travel days. How do you plan to win back trust in SWR? Is there a plan?
