A valued member of our elite Emergency Task Force, our brave brother was fatally shot early this morning during a high-risk takedown. The TPA has been on site all morning with Chief Demkiw and other members of the TPS, supporting Marc’s devastated family and colleagues. Details of how this tragic incident unfolded, as well as any arrangements, will be available in the coming days. In the meantime, I want to ask everyone for their support. When most people were safely at home in bed, this officer left his family to make this city safer. Our members put their lives on the line every day. It is a devastating tragedy that Marc did not return home to his family today.

Saw today that Canada didn't even medal at the World Championships, and as if that isn't bad enough, we're only a few minutes away from a Stanley Cup Final that ensures an American franchise will win it for the 32nd straight time. Should Canada just quit hockey at this point?
