186 years after the signing of te Tiriti and we see a PM stumble his way through a mispronounced mihi read from paper and leaders like Winston Peters speak English. Leave the taumata-paepae pōwhiri for the adepts and have the politicians to say their little kōrero over by the whare paku until they acquire te reo rangatira.

The judgment in the case of Maria Kelly v Leonardo is out and it is awful.
As bad as James Tayler’s judgment in Forstater v CGDE in 2019 (and just as likely to be turned over on appeal).

Having been informed by multiple men with anime furry avatars that my career is over I'm at a loss to understand how this could have happened.

Statement re Royal Commission
I’m disappointed to learn that those requested by the Royal Commission for COVID-19 Lessons to give evidence publicly have declined to do so, resulting in the cancellation of public hearings, given the Commission believed these hearings would enhance public confidence.
In light of this refusal, I have sought assurance from the Royal Commission that they will still have access to the information needed for their report to be fulsome and robust. I have received that assurance.
It is important we learn from the past so future Governments are better prepared to respond to any future pandemics. The final report will be delivered in February next year, and I know many Kiwis are interested in reading its findings.
