'TERRIFYING': Dashcam video shows the moment a Tesla Cybertruck, allegedly operating in self-driving mode, nearly sent a Houston mom and her infant off a bridge before violently crashing into an overpass barrier. The woman claims she suffered multiple injuries from the incident and is now suing the automaker for $1 million.

@Tesla @FoxNews @elonmusk I suspect the woman driving the cyber truck desengaged auto pilot by physically controlling the steering wheel then let go thinking the truck would continue, could Tesla confirm if simply controlling the wheel disengages FSD, I have little experience with FSD

@Tesla @FoxNews The cybertruck doesn’t have the latest software update for dashcam viewer showing speed and autopilot status? Or is this the customers own dashcam? Or did lawyers edit clip?

@Tesla @FoxNews The car was going way too fast on fsd into that corner. This is a pretty common thing with fsd. It was dangerously fast going into that curb. The driver disengaging didn't cause this. You can't skirt responsibility by 4 seconds.

@Tesla @FoxNews Care to add a retraction, Fox, or are you just going to roll with the propaganda? Maybe Elon should sue you. He would probably have a better chance at winning than Gavin.

@Tesla @FoxNews I have never been in a cybertruck. To disengage the autopilot is it digital or analog? If digital, how do you know the driver disengaged it?

@Tesla @FoxNews The Fungineer in me says Tesla needs a watermark on the forward facing dashcam video feed that shows the state of FSD at all times.

@Tesla @FoxNews News is garbage, always an agenda, want stock to go down. Besides that why would she do this? Murder/Suicide attempt? Child engagement at the least if trying to get a pay day? Those questions need to be asked by the PD and this woman needs to be psychologically evaluated ASAP!

@Tesla @FoxNews Is it because they hit the brakes or did the driver push the button on steering wheel? Need a debrief so we don't make the same mistakes in the future. Not trolling, fsd I believe is safer just want to make informed decisions in future

I drive FSD supervised EVERY day. I can’t imagine it doing this. EVER. I knew FSD had to be disengaged. 1 it could clearly see the cones well in advance and the lane divider isn’t just a painted line. Fantastic that the car records the accident before. Maybe it should also have video recording of the interior also.

@Tesla @FoxNews How did they engage Autopilot? Is the CEO accusing the driver of hacking the CT, or does he not know the difference? And you’re repeating it without clarification. “There may be more to this story..”

@Tesla @FoxNews Driver disengagement four seconds before impact means Autopilot handed off cleanly before the collision - the telemetry record is why these liability cases keep running into walls at trial.

The accident clearly happened because it disengaged and she didn't take control immediately, whether she did it accidentally or not. Trying to be productive about it, since I can see this happening again, perhaps the hand off should happen right after a difficult turn instead of just before? Maybe a very loud and clear audio "self driving disengaged" notification too.

@Tesla @FoxNews Forget Community notes just sue FOX for not reaching out and clarifying the technology, behavior and accuracy of the claims! Clearly there is something behind this story the is deliberately harmful to TESLA without the author being honest in the review! SEEMS FISHY

@Tesla @FoxNews According to your own definition, this is a collision: “If FSD (Supervised) was active at any point within five seconds leading up to a collision event, Tesla considers the collision to have occurred with FSD (Supervised) engaged” tesla.com/fsd/safety

@Tesla @FoxNews If on basic Autopilot, shouldn’t it be improved so that it’s not possible for vehicles to approach a sharp bend like this at such a high speed? Seems it’s less safe than conventional or advanced cruise control in other vehicles for instances like this.

@Tesla @FoxNews Happens all the time to people not ready for the disengagement - the human is the variable. FSD really needs to be truly FSD. I do wonder if there is a way to disengage that would protect people from themselves... EULA activated... for now.
