I've been looking at SpaceX's stargaze and am very impressed. They use video from the star trackers on all 10,000 starlink satellites to track orbital debris with low latency AND they decided to let others hook into the system for free. That is a very big deal.

Stupid watch on @LucidStew: California High Speed Rail's latest 2026 Draft Business Plan pushes full Phase 1 (Anaheim to SF) to maybe 2040—if ever—with costs ballooned to $126B+ for a watered-down "interim" version (4-hour trips via patched Caltrain/Metrolink lines, gaps, lower speeds). Original $33B dream from 2008 now a joke; Central Valley segment already a money pit with tiny BCR and big losses. Litigation, inflation, funding shortfalls—it's gone completely off the rails. This is Chase. He operates robots for Neuralink. He did the robot for my Neuralink implantation surgery. He had a first date that he had to postpone because of my surgery. She thought he was a flake. He couldn’t tell her about the surgery because it was a secret. They went on a date the next day. They are still together. If they get married, I think I deserve a lot of credit! He now mixes up their anniversary and my surgery! Maybe he is a flake after all. People at Neuralink are awesome!

The AI industry is about to run out of chips. The world's largest foundries are maxed out and the demand curve is still going vertical. Tesla’s TeraFab is a bet on a solution no other company in the world has been ambitious enough to try.... build the chips yourself Quick math on how big this is: - Targeting 70% of TSMC’s global output - 2nm chips. In-house design - 1/10th the cost of Nvidia Blackwell - 1/3rd the power consumption - $20B capex budget for 2026 - Launchin next week Elon said on the earnings call that even with all fabs fully booked out, the best-case chip supply projections aren't enough. He said there are zero advanced memory fabs at scale in the US. Literally zero. So he's building the entire stack. Chips. Memory. Packaging. Energy. All domestic.
