@AP_Scouting Naji is a great comp, keep this series alive, comps aren’t easy it’s very impressive
English

@in7evenfr Cenac will be on Monday, Anderson will be after this week.
English

@duragactivitty @hdnjem @DetroitBardy I've never did it only based on ppg I look at a lot of factors outside of exact playstyle matches. A lot of the debates on a player's spot on the chart is based on perspective and how you're judging them. And it's all opinionated so I can't please everyone.
English

@AP_Scouting @hdnjem @DetroitBardy that’s fair but on the other posts you just base it off ppg when some players are better
English

@hdnjem @duragactivitty @DetroitBardy That's what I mean. I like Swain a lot but like you said he's a guy that's going mid 1st Rnd so being an Evan Turner + starting on a solid team (avg like 15,5,4) would be a great outcome for him.
English

exactly. people get upset by maybe seeing a role player or a guy like Evan Turner who was kinda viewed as a bust as a ceiling for a player they like. there is many things that go into it. it’s about roles. i believe Swain probably has the talent to be a top 4 player on a decent team but is he ever actually gonna get that opportunity? highly doubt it. he’s gonna be asked to be literally a player that would be similar to a Evan Turner+. dude that can cut, play D (especially on guards), catch & shoot, rebound, drive a bit & try a small bit of playmaking stuff to round him out as a swiss army knife player
English

@hdnjem @duragactivitty @DetroitBardy Yeah people take my posts way too literally with the comps, especially cuz I have to find multiple guys on different ends of success in the NBA. I think the most important thing about player comparisons are their role and the impact they have on their NBA team with that skillset.
English

@AP_Scouting @duragactivitty @DetroitBardy that’s how i have always done my comps. and most times my friends will think im crazy but im saying the level of player not literally that they play the same
English

@hdnjem @duragactivitty @DetroitBardy That's how I try to look at it too. It's nearly impossible to find 1 to 1 matches with players.
English

@Yo_Dee93 He was gonna be more towards the end of the month, I’ll move him up to this week though. I like his potential a lot, feel like he has a big gap from floor to ceiling though.
English

@AP_Scouting Just missing with you 😂. But yeah i want to see who you got Tounde Yessoufou as a floor and ceiling i am trying to see if you close to mine.
English

@Yo_Dee93 Lol I started doing 2 days in a row then one day off, my bad😂
English

@AP_Scouting You missed a day 😂 we should get 2 of these today..
English

@Coach_Oxford @FatDrunkyStupid I like that, it does good defining a players possible outcomes.
English

@AP_Scouting @FatDrunkyStupid From an old guide I did. I think it helps to define what the “floor” is for each player as far as setting expectations for readers. Doesn’t need to be the same percentile outcome for each imo if we are saying anything that results in the player out of the league being below floor

English

The player comps are so crazy in all of these. Every floor is at least a very useful NBA role player. If every player hit their bottom 20% outcome on here it would be the greatest draft of all time (not close) and fundamentally change the NBA for years

English

@Coach_Oxford @FatDrunkyStupid Floor being worst case what they turn out to be, besides a total bust like being out of the league after a year or 2. Which I will do better with for my future comps, all these ones do have too high of floors for the most part. Ceiling would be best outcome development wise.
English

@AP_Scouting @FatDrunkyStupid What is “floor” defined as? 20th percentile outcome? How about ceiling?
English

@Cfan38Tony Thank you, and Ik it’s just some of modern day prospects don’t fit as well with older players. I try to not look at potential of rookie/2nd year guys when I compare though just what they have done.
English

@AP_Scouting I like your floor to ceiling comp idea and the graphic but the general idea of comps should be to compare a prospect at his current raw state to older developed players. Using Rookie/second years guys feels like your trying to comp to still moving targets
