@RootieDaHoodie I don’t understand how the profile page is so terrible. It should be an anchor for a creator-driven platform. Instead it’s a mess with no clear purpose or vision, besides a vague attempt at upselling UGC.

I'm genuinely curious how these Roblox meetings go down. Does someone just burst into the room like "GUYS I KNOW WHAT ROBLOX NEEDS! WE NEED TO REMOVE BADGES!!" Hello??? This is solving a problem that literally doesn't exist. Who's spending more than 5 seconds on profiles anyway 😭???

@SigmaTechRBLX @yourius @RobertJALA I really like the "Flight hours" analogy. The "test" when designing consumer products is... real people. Trying & failing is a better feedback loop than test scores.

@yourius @RobertJALA Yeah, 6 hours in 4 years is rough When you actually build games, you can easily double that in a week I feel like actually making games earns more "flight hours" than checking boxes correctly on a test Tests should reflect your ability to make the actual thing IMO

Game development education has failed, and the old guard has moved on, retired or been laid off. I've talked to recent graduates and people actively in school that know literally nothing about old techniques or optimization in any way. They expect the engine to do everything for them.

@Abstract_Alex i think roblox should let you customize what categories u get on your feed and the order they're in

Roblox is testing burying the "Continue" sort, just like they did with Favorites. This is to make you play games the algorithm wants, instead of what you already play. This especially hurts because Roblox has no "Not Interested" button or way to hide things from your feed. Do you think this is healthy for the platform? I think user choice is important. #Roblox #RobloxDev

This has been quite annoying for me when I want to test my game that I tested a day ago and I need to scroll four pages of random games I played a year ago to find the one I played yesterday.

@badgraphix It factors in a lot of variables - but money spent is a big one. If someone is playing games, but not spending money - the algorithm considers this a bad game.

@Abstract_Alex I don't see how burying the Continue sort would be healthy for them. Doesn't most play time come about as a result of repeat visits to the same game? I would think they'd want to optimize for higher play time, not lower.

@kostasbytheway The 80% of Roblox players on phone can’t customize at all, since no browser extensions :/

@Abstract_Alex at least you can change the layout with roseal extension but yeah kinda stinky update, i think theyve been testing this for a while though because i remember continue sort appearing all the way at the bottom

@juudymoody Having no way to browse genres is a huge pain point. Why can't I influence my home page at all?

@Abstract_Alex I haven’t liked the way Roblox has sorted games since they got rid of genres and infinite scrolling for games. There used to be a bunch of hidden gems with 300-500 players in it that you could easily find, now it’s hard to find anything outside of whatever is on the front page.

@asimo3089 I highly recommend checking out P90/P10 for this sort of thing. Averages are too diluted. 7% drop could mean a 40% drop for your bottom P10 users, but ideally it only impacts max setting users!

It is SO COOL that Roblox allows us to track player client framerates (and much more data) LIVE. Seeing a ~7% drop in FPS from 40 player servers. Not terrible...
