Well it’s official - no more entrants into the Safety Valve scheme. This is obviously good news and a step in the right direction, but it doesn’t help those already in these schemes or the families affected. We will continue to campaign for the damaging deals to be scrapped.

Interesting times at BCP Council, which tonight publishes a letter sent by its finance chief to Govt ministers during the pre-election period. The letter is dated 22nd May and previews almost-certain bankruptcy for the Council unless Govt intervenes in its schools deficit. 1/4
