Watching the original video from the other angle where you can see the missile still accelerating shortly after launch I'm estimating 6-7 seconds from launch to detonation, and that lines up pretty well with what definitely looks like a textbook defensive break turn into the attack. So an immediate reaction to a MAWS alert. Definitely tracks; the videos seem to line up well (see link in next tweet.)
Still, the lack of flares here is even more puzzling; if the MAWS alerted the pilot to the launch it should've automatically cued countermeasures.
It's no great secret that traditional countermeasures aren't as good as they used to be, given steady advancements in seeker tech, but that's also why countermeasures continue to improve (for instance towed decoys are the go-to counter for RF guided weapons instead of chaff.) Perhaps something similar has emerged for IR-based threats?

People are missing the point here: the increase in maximum enlistment age is far less significant than the elimination of waiver requirements for marijuana. This now renders all of Wingstop's customers eligible for military service, the core demographic of enlisted personnel.

The Cadets from Old Dominion University who stopped an active shooter, received 8 Meritorious Service Medals. Two of them received Purple Hearts…from the Sergeant Major of the Army and the Secretary of the Army.
