Raddysh is a big unknown, but the team who has more information than any other is Tampa Bay. The fact that they prefered to trade him for a 5th rather than pay this would increase my hesitation.

Look. Marner lost in the Final but it’s hard to not look at what he accomplished in the post season as a success. Would have been the runaway Conn Smythe Trophy winner had Vegas won the Cup.

They seem to be terrible at generating offense and rode good goaltending to where they ended up. Likely not a great long term plan.

Michael Hage, 20 Alexander Zharovsky, 19 David Reinbacher, 21 Jacob Fowler, 21 Team-friendly deals. Cap space. They just went to the Conference Final as the youngest team in the NHL while playing the two most exciting series of the playoffs before the Cup Final. Not sure people realize how ridiculous Montréal’s outlook is. Can’t wait to see how management shapes this team over the next decade. #GoHabsGo

With the report of McDavid having Montreal on his short list of teams he’d like to land on if it doesn’t work out in EDM, I’d like to reiterate the following… There is no team in the league outside of Montreal that can say they have the following: A perennial cup contending team ✅ The money to sign him or take him in✅ Strong management ✅ Big hockey market ✅ Assets to trade him ✅ And most important of all is the player’s interest in joining said franchise and it also appears to be there. Not going to get my hopes up yet, but this is a real, legit possibility at some point in the next two years.

All they have is fear and nostalgia (for a Canada that basically no longer exists). Canada has fully recognized dual citizenship since 1977. There is no requirement to renounce Canadian citizenship when acquiring another. A Canadian-born person does not lose their citizenship simply because their province leaves Confederation. Canadian law protects citizenship by birth on Canadian soil. Most Albertans have deep family, cultural, and economic connections across Canada. None of those ties will be broken because of independence.
