Right now Kherson is under massive bombardment. FPV attacks have doubled to 600 EVERY DAY. Glide bombs are constant. Entire neighbourhoods are turning to rubble. Russians are hunting innocent civilians on the streets. Women, children, war crimes in plain sight. They are trying to completely destroy the city. International coverage is almost zero & the situation is catastrophic. In this report, I embed with a drone patrol that are the city’s first line of defence. What I witnessed was brutality on an industrial scale. If Russia isn’t stopped, this will spread and Kherson will be a blueprint for cities across Europe in the future. I for one, and most others see you as a 'people', a people person, an individual with unique skills, a person with baggage as we all have, doing good work at great risk, someone with a sense of humour, self effacing, and soldiering without ringing your on bell. Those/that other/s spending time criticising attract a certain crowd and do not have the mpral high ground over anyone. For the first time in four years, this post is about me. My name is April Huggett. I’m #Canadian. I’m #autistic. I’m a mother, a director, a process operator, a #medic, and a human being. For four years I have given my life to #Ukraine. Every day has been about service: to soldiers, to civilians, to this country that is not my own. I fundraise, I manage logistics, I build systems, I meet volunteers, I run platforms, I live at the front. I do the work. But somewhere along the way, people stopped seeing me as a person. Because I share parts of my life, people think I am creating drama. I’m not. I am simply a human being speaking about my experiences while continuing to carry an enormous weight. And one of those experiences for the past year and a half has been being stalked, harassed, and targeted by @Tatou_Ania . This is not something abstract. This is real life. This includes false complaints to my brigade, interference with volunteers and organizations, attempts to stop support from reaching my soldiers, mass posts about me having HIV and ongoing public attacks against me and the men I serve beside. It has escalated to threats against me, @RachelPAV , and @trinzu. It has escalated to the posting of private images of me, taken out of context, used to humiliate and degrade me publicly….to try to reduce everything I’ve done to lies and slander. And I am expected to stay silent. I am expected to “be strong” and “not create drama” because Ukraine is at war. Do you understand what that actually looks like? It looks like being a soldier, a medic, a fundraiser, a coordinator, a representative, all while also sitting in meetings with commanders because of false accusations. It looks like trying to hold everything together in Kramatorsk while someone actively works against you from behind the lines. If you don’t know where Kramatorsk is, look it up. Then understand that this is where I am trying to function, every day, under this pressure. So I am asking questions now. To individuals. To organizations. To anyone who continues to support or associate with this behavior: Why would you support someone who calls for others to be taken to the trenches and shot? Why would you support someone who spreads lies about soldiers and volunteers? Why would you support someone who uses humiliation and exploitation of a woman’s image to discredit her work? Why would you support someone who actively interferes with aid to soldiers during a war? I came here and for three years I drove the frontlines alone, helping anyone I could. In 2024, I signed a three-year contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine to continue that commitment. I chose this. I stand by it. But I am still human. And I deserve protection too. I do not deserve to be stalked, bullied, threatened, and harassed for over a year by anyone. Not by enemies. Not by foreigners. Not by people who claim to support Ukraine. So I will ask one final question: When will people stop telling me to endure this, and start standing up against it? Because I have stood up for others for four years. It is not unreasonable to ask for the same in return. And the worst part is, she hasn’t posted in days on X so all of you will forget by the time she posts next, even though her posts are still there, saying we should be killed. And before we went to the internet we went to @37obrmp, I got a lawyer, we went to military police…but as long as she is useful she is tolerated. Every single supporter is complicit, whether you want to admit it or not. That is it, that is the post. I am not a punching bag for psychos in Ukraine because I volunteered to help the Ukrainian people. And if you agree I need your help to stop this forever. Make a complaint to her brigade and the fundraisers supporting her. End our torture.

It is easy to see why you didn't get the opportunity. I saw him shedding tears only once after that FPV strike on their van. Not syre if someone was injured or if it was a response to the accumulated stress. Great video, with the production being seamless, music appropriate to the scenes and tenor of the story. Selling everything here in Oz, finished my job and heading to Ukraine for an extended period to work on stuff with partners, and volunteer work when not doing that. Take care!

That’s not a fair critique of Zelensky. Mehdi’s post is problematic, but so are many of the replies to it. Both over-moralise wartime decision-making. Mehdi over-moralises hypocrisy. His critics over-moralise Ukraine’s right to retaliate because Iran helped Russia. A right to retaliate does not mean it is advantageous for Ukraine to use it. In reality, Ukraine is a politically fragile state in an anarchic international environment. It depends on powers whose conduct it cannot control. Trump’s war with Iran is not good for Ukraine. But Zelensky still has to react to it. And whatever he does, he loses. Endorsing Trump’s war is damaging. Rejecting Trump’s war is dangerous. Ukraine’s case before the world rests on the norm against aggressive war. But that norm has largely collapsed. Ukraine still depends on it, but it is too fragile to help restore it. That is the tragic dimension of politics. Zelensky’s choices, even if they are wrong, are driven by necessity, uncertainty, and survival.

For all the haters in the replies, making dumb, dishonest or inane comparisons & putting words in my mouth, it is a simple fact that Russia's attack on Ukraine was illegal & the US & Israel's attack on Iran was illegal & so both Ukraine & Iran are the victims.

@mehdirhasan Zelenksy does not justify any of your countries attacks on Iran, but he does point out the inconsistancy of the UN in matters of regimes like Iran that act with impunity. There are plenty of parallels in the Shahed attacks in the Gulf to thousands of Shahed attacks in Ukraine.
