This is snake language. What mistreatment of women is Gulledge referring to? Who is defending this mistreatment? He does not say. And yet, he suggests this undefined alleged mistreatment should shame us from pursuing biblical fidelity in the matter of pastoral authority. And he further infers those who are working toward that fidelity are doing so because they desire to mistreat women. It's the sneaky and deceitful argument of men who do not want to stake a clear position and yet want to cast sly aspersions on men who do have the courage to unapologetically make their biblical case.
