🇺🇸 A top counterterrorism official in the Trump admin is under investigation… for seeking out sugar daddies
The complaint goes as follows: a man says he spent $40K on Julia Varvaro, the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Counterterrorism, in just 3 months.
Aruba. The Italian Riviera. The Swiss Alps. Milan. A $3,500 Bottega bag. Cartier jewelry. Half her rent.
Allegedly, the two met on Hinge and had a very expensive 3-month fling.
In texts, she called herself "boss princess" and told him she was "above being tested" when he warned her about drug use risking her clearance.
She allegedly had a profile on sugar daddy site Seeking under the name "Alessia," and claimed her jewelry was "trophies from sugar daddies" who also paid for her education.
Varvaro says she did nothing wrong and this is "just a mad ex-boyfriend putting crap together.”
The woman in charge of keeping Americans safe from terrorists is a 29-year-old sugar baby.
Ok then…

@NancyMace What happened to Corey Mills? He seemed to be one of the good guys then suddenly did a 180.
I hate to speculate, but it seems he changed the same time the scandals started. I can't help but wonder if someone has something on him.

@OnlyInBOS As a former Ozempic overdose survivor, I approve of this being taken down. Due to my obesity, I am unable to run. Props to the good folks taking this disgusting message down 👏

@MBonvoyAssist @Marriott is skirting disaster with the Atlanta airport hotel. It’s among the worst things I’ve stayed at (and I’ve slept in caves), the bed was the WORST of any hotel, and they claim it’s a 4 star. What on earth are you doing?!

@lawyer4SMBs I mow a half acre back yard with a SP that can bag, mulch, or shoot. I bagged last year to get rid of weeds (new construction).
Sunshine, exercise, Pride. Doesn’t take a full day. I have a small front yard and side yards so I’ll cut those together.

I remember a while back I said that if you make over $200k a a year and still mow your own lawn, you're doing it wrong.
Now that the average quote I'm getting for my lawn is $400 a month, I think I'm changing my mind on that statement.
What are folks running for lawnmowing equipment on a 1 acre mow these days?

@noahkaufmanmd @operationdanish And my intent was to prevent wasted time so doc could look at me. Hopefully you find a system that works for you, your staff, and the patient!
English

@noahkaufmanmd @operationdanish I recently went to a specialist for cubital tunnel, and I used notes for symptoms, meds, history, and had a file for the documents (imaging, referral, clinical notes, PT notes). The place (Baptist), was struggling to migrate my meds over and I’m like here.

So many startups building tools for doctors are going to be brutally ended by Epic.
If you’re a founder or VC in health tech, invest in services (not tools).
With OpenAI and Anthropic entering the space and Epic’s distribution, it really continues to be a bloodbath.
Reminds me of the ol’ telehealth days.

My new Substack: Epic, the leading EHR vendor, has released >100 AI tools. Choosing them over third-party tools has become the safe choice for many health systems. I explore why, and the bigger questions: can – and should – something be done about it. robertwachter.substack.com/p/damn-it-they…

@noahkaufmanmd @operationdanish My BH doc uses hand written notes and an amazing filing system. They are open 3x a week, and it’s a little organized process. I love it.

@Asst_to_the_RM Leaders embrace followership as well and are willing to stand on business
English

1. Leaders let their own fear take standards away bc they feared being investigated bc they didn’t know how to act / speak to & correct to Soldiers.
2. Leaders never needed a MFR to lead and hold standards. They just looked for excuses rather than hold the hard line.
3. Leaders above reproach never feared doing the right thing.

Attention folks!!!
This is DC in a NUTSHELL:
While I was involved with politics and in Congress these are some of the whispers that ran rampant in DC:
Rep. Max Miller of OH remains accused by more than one woman of hitting them.
Rep. Nancy Mace was rumored to have an affair with her female chief of staff, the caveat here is that her own staff made those allegations.
Former Rep. Anthony D’ Esposito hired his mistress onto the payroll violating ethics rules.
Former Rep. Brandon Williams verbally assaulted and threatened his staff on video.
Former Rep. Rosendale was rumored to have an affair with one of his staffers.
Then Rep. Ruben Gallego cheated on his pregnant wife and divorced her while having several rumored allegations of him having inappropriate relationships with staffers, lobbyists and reporters.
Former Rep. Katie Hill had an affair that formed a truple with a staffer amongst many other rumors.
Rep. Thomas Suozzi is rumored to have had an affair with a lobbyist.
Former Rep. Cawthorn had a reputation of sleeping around the hill and using his office like a bachelor pad. 1 reporter told me he lured her in to his office, one night, promising an exclusive on a subject, and then proceeded to make aggressive insinuations onto her.
Former Rep. Tom Reed allegedly had to resign in disgrace due to his sexual misconduct.
Former Rep. Eric Swalwell had a nasty reputation that was ignored and swept under the rug.
Rep. Ritchie Torres has rumors alleging he is always hitting on male staff on the hill.
Rep. Brad Sherman has rumors and allegations of improper sexual behavior.
Rep. Jimmy Gomez has allegations of him cheating on his wife with younger women staffers.
Rep. Jared Golden has had rumors about his aggressiveness towards women in the press core.
Former Rep. Anthony Weiner went to prison for sexual misconduct involving a minor.
Rep. John Rose married a woman that was a recipient of his education scholarship. A woman 22 years younger her than him that he met when she was a minor.
This list goes on and on but the pattern remains the same… we have a SEX problem in Washington DC. With all this out there the ethic committee focused on 1 man, Matt Gaetz even though he beat every allegation against him investigated by both the Trump and Biden DOJ an FBI and not a single charge was bought forward.
DC is not a Swamp it’s a cesspool.

Veteran Tip #137:
When your back seizes up tying your boots, don’t curse, just whisper “this is why we had medics” and switch to slip-ons like a true tactical retiree.
Pride is temporary, but Velcro is forever.

@RepLuttrell Thank you. It’s been overdue for myself and my regret of service is not getting help sooner

Today marks a decisive step forward in our commitment to exploring innovative treatments for the invisible wounds carried by so many of our veterans. I want to thank President Trump for his leadership on this issue and for recognizing the urgency of investing in groundbreaking research that will save lives.
Innovative therapies have shown life-changing results in treating combat-related mental health injuries, especially where conventional treatments, like opioids, have fallen short. If there’s a chance to give our veterans their lives back, we have a responsibility to explore it.
For too long, outdated stigmas and bureaucratic hurdles have slowed progress in this space. This executive order signals a shift toward prioritizing results, evidence, and above all, the well-being of those who have sacrificed for our country. It is critical we give the men and women who have served this country every opportunity to recover and overcome these challenges.
I can personally attest to the significant benefits of this treatment. It changed my life, and I look forward to seeing the impact it will have on countless others. We’re losing too many veterans. If this treatment gives us a chance to change that, then we owe it to them to pursue it. The President’s executive order brings us closer to a lasting solution that our veterans deserve.

Some in media and on social media want to distract you in the Dianna Russini - Mike Vrabel scandal.
By focusing on the tabloid stuff (the alleged affair, etc.). they can sweep the scandal under the rug with a simple, "It's none of your business."
I'll remind you what this massive scandal is REALLY about:
1.) Journalism Ethics - self explanatory.
2.) The AP Voting process - Russini had a vote for COTY and is already on record saying she voted for Drake Maye for MVP. The @AP wrote about the Russini resignation and didn't mention anything about this. I think The AP wants this story to go away.
3.) Tampering - Numerous clips and articles have surfaced in which Dianna Russini has talked about both AJ Brown and Maxx Crosby being upset with their teams and the Patriots being a trade destination. Vrabel isn't allowed to lure a contracted player to the Patriots, so people are asking if he used Russini to manipulate the trade market. The NFL hasn't issued a statement on this. It's conceivable they're investigating this internally but that seems unlikely because they haven't issued a "We are aware of it, and we're looking into it" type statement. I think The NFL wants this story to go away.
4.) Accountability - Mike Vrabel is known for preaching accountability with his team, and now finds himself in a serious scandal. Instead of addressing the media, he is nowhere to be found, which is the opposite of accountability. I think Mike Vrabel wants this story to go away.
5.) Odd Media Coverage - TMZ turned down this story because it didn't want to "police the bedroom." The NFL Network acted as though the story wasn't happening. Dan Le Batard admitted covering the story made him uncomfortabe. Barstool admits to having a close relationship with Dianna Russini - it shows. ESPN, which made a big deal of the "Coldplay Couple" remained silent and refused to cover this scandal. Now even when some cover the scandal, it's with kid gloves and focuses on the tabloid stuff as opposed to #s 2-4 above. I think some members of the media media want this story to go away.
