What do Liberal strategists want Canadians to focus on? 1) Pierre blew his 20-point lead 2) Pierre lost his riding 3) Pierre needs to change What do they want you to avoid thinking about? 1) Pierre has been driving the conversation around everything that actually matters—housing affordability, the cost-of-living crisis, the carbon tax, crime, and ACTUALLY getting Canadian resources to market... not just talking about it. 2)The Liberals straight-up conceded to Pierre’s best ideas because they had no choice. Carney’s very first act as PM in March 2025 was cancelling the consumer carbon tax (the “fuel charge”) that Pierre had fought for years under “Axe the Tax.” The Liberals also copied Conservative-style tax relief for first-time homebuyers and middle-class families. Pierre won the policy debate so thoroughly that even his opponents had to adopt his platform to survive. 3)Pierre’s Conservatives were 2.5 points from winning. They gained +25 seats across the country while the Liberals limped into a minority government. Pierre’s ideas resonated with millions of Canadians who want real change, not slogans. (And yes, he lost Carleton in the upset—but roared back in the August by-election with over 80% of the vote in Battle River-Crowfoot.) Reality is different from party talking points... repeated word for word by faceless accounts on social media and pundits who benefit financially from the party being in power on the news.

I'm not upset that Marilyn left the Conservative Party. What upsets me is the overt insult to all of our collective intelligences. Her talking to everyone like we're all blind, deaf and dumb as though the internet doesn't somehow exist. Your legacy Marilyn... Tragic! 🤡

I don’t need to speculate ‘something seems very off in Canadian democracy and governance, media’ because I have already documented numerous cases. But the sense that foreign interference/crime is much much broader and more sophisticated than I understand, is a humbling thought.

@GinnyRothTO So maybe that is why the Libs and the media want Pierre gone. Pierre has earned our support.

This isn’t to say that the health of the party depends on one person. My concern is that the post merger CPC requires a leader who understands and can speak for western Canadians, fiscal conservatives, social conservatives and increasingly, young working people. Those wanting a leadership change seem to want to pursue a strategy that would surely alienate these types of party members and conservative voters. And I think that would ultimately lead to the fracturing of the party.

It's easy to look at Marilyn Gladu's long history of unabashedly conservative positions and be surprised at her decision today, but the kind of person who would abandon their principles overnight for a whiff of power clearly belongs with the Liberals.

I can say with complete confidence that Canada and Canadians would be significantly better off today if @PierrePoilievre had become Prime Minister. Losing him as our leader would be a real tragedy for the country.

@pdrobertson Carney will open doors for her after her term. Time will reveal the deal she struck with Carney. This is opportunism! This says so much about our PM. He will do anything bec he believes in nothing … but lining his and coterie’s pockets with net zero $. Oh Canada.

You can speculate about what motivated Marilyn Gladu to cross the floor to the Carney Liberals. But you can't say it was opportunism. She won her riding with 53% of the vote. One has to wonder: what exactly is the number of CPC MPs needed to bail before caucus starts asking really uncomfortable questions?
