He basically put his entire reputation on the line to assure everyone it was a guaranteed winning trade and you were stupid not to buy.

Much smaller scale, but the punk market feels a bit like the bored ape market after @osf_rekt sold. There's enough bidders to give the illusion of prices holding up, but the number of sellers keeps increasing and the few recent net buyers aren't people that typically collect
