in high school, i was dared to play "gay chicken", which is where two straight guys pretend to be gay, and the first one to chicken out loses. the other guy and i are both really stubborn, and neither one of us wanted to lose. we’ve been married 14 years and we run a bed and breakfast in Vermont with out adopted daughter. if that dude doesn't chicken out soon, i’m going to start to suspect that he's actually gay

@MatthewStadlen @LaindonFEMINIST Er... this absolutely does happen to Muslims, they just don't get the same attention and protection? Only the wilfully blind would pretend this isn't happening, you're just desensitised to it... at least that's thr best interpretation.

This is devastatingly well put by Jonathan Freedland in The Guardian. It leaves nowhere to go for the antisemites: “Every minority faces discrimination – note Tory frontbencher Nick Timothy’s appalling attack on Muslim prayer this week – but next to no other diaspora community goes through this. People can’t stand Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, but Russian Orthodox churches don’t require round-the-clock protection. People loathe Donald Trump and his bombing of Iran, but US-branded stores on UK high streets are not smashed and daubed. As for British businesses with investment links to the US, including to US security firms, those remain untouched. Israel and Jews are the exception.”

Hi @grok is it true that on 3 July 1988, Iran shot down a US passenger plane with two surface-to-air missiles, killing all 290 people on board, and has never apologised? That would seem to me like an incredibly evil thing to do...

California's unique mix of regulations, cleaner fuel mandates, high taxes, and declining local refining capacity Refinery closures in California are a major structural reason for the state's persistently high and volatile gas prices California is largely a "fuel island" it produces most of its own gasoline (historically over 90%) to meet unique CARB reformulated blend standards for cleaner air. The state has limited pipelines connecting it to other U.S. refining hubs (like the Gulf Coast), so it can't easily or cheaply import from domestic sources during shortages. Reduced local production: Losing ~17–20% capacity creates a structural supply gap. Increased reliance on imports: Refiners now bring in more finished gasoline (or blendstocks) from Asia, Europe, or other regions. Analysts estimate the closures alone could add $0.40–$1.50+ per gallon over time, depending on models and conditions. Some pre-closure reports warned of potential spikes toward $6–$8+ per gallon by late 2026 in a normal year. With fewer facilities, any single refinery outage, maintenance, or seasonal transition (e.g., to summer blend) has a bigger ripple effect. Recent evidence: Gas prices in California surged ~40 cents in just two weeks in early 2026 amid the Benicia wind-down and Phillips 66 closure effects. Even without global events, the reduced buffer makes California more prone to sharp increases during heat waves, hurricanes affecting imports, or local outages. In summary, refinery closures shrink in-state gasoline manufacturing capacity in a market that's hard to supply from outside. This tightens supply, raises import dependence and costs, and increases vulnerability to disruptions all of which drive up pump prices and volatility beyond what global oil markets alone would cause. The effect is already visible in 2026 pricing and is expected to persist or worsen without new capacity, conversions, or policy changes to ease constraints. Long-term, continued demand decline from electrification may ease some pressure, but the transition period is proving costly for drivers.

1. Trump never knew Vince Lombardi. 2. Vince Lombardi was not a violent person. 3. Contrary to public perception, Lombardi was a master motivator who treated every player differently. He knew which buttons to push, and what to avoid.

This is not a military target, this is a car clearly marked as Press, Israel deliberately targeted in Lebanon, killing 3 journalists. This violates Article 79 of Additional Protocol I Geneva Conventions, but international law clearly doesn’t apply to Israel.

Lying, asswipe, Trump never said it and you will not get far enough in the primaries to ever face off against our current VP Vance, and he would wipe his ass with your clown face if you ever got that opportunity. You are stupid by your own admission, but Vance is genius level smart.

@LindaBr07293431 @dailybritainonx Is it really 'thanks to him'? I read this a lot and it just seems to be completely rubbish. Labour haven't tanked the economy, they haven't caused a major shift either way, but they did bank headroom that gives them flexibility in... oh I don't know... a wartime energy crisis?

Mortifying debate on GB News tonight for Matt Goodwin. The publication of his amateur book has completely trashed his reputation, just as he tried to trash anyone supporting Restore Britain. No one in Reform has publicly defended him. Miriam Cates did v good job as moderator.
