I am deeply saddened and horrified to hear reports of a vehicle ramming and active shooter incident at Temple Israel in Michigan, the largest reform synagogue in the United States. No one should be targeted for practicing their faith, period. Hatred and bigotry have no space in our nation, and I condemn this attempted attack on this synagogue. I will pray for those in West Bloomfield and I thank the first responders, law enforcement, and the synagogue security team for their service to this community.
