@ianmSC U.S. soccer will continue to live in the shadows of U.S. football. Since MLS started in 1996, until today, none of the stadiums where the league plays has a capacity higher than 30,000. None. Soccer as a sport is only in the US because they want to host the a World Cup in 1992.

What the Europeans fail to realize about US soccer fans is that even if only 20% of the country follows the sport, that’s roughly 70 million people, or more than the entire population of France or the UK

@JessMUFCx Since 1930 the US has never gotten past 12th place, you can google it. They are good but not good enough to beat Germany, Italy, Brazil, Chile or even France. They are just playing weak teams.

@__apf__ California names are always pronounced as #1. They are pronounced by transplanted locals as #3 because they are #2 and just lived there for generations and are lazy. Actual locals have roots since it was part of Spain and Mexico and have and still pronounce the names in Spanish.

every city name in California has three ways to pronounce it: (1) the Spanish way (2) the way an English speaker would pronounce it if they hadn't heard the name before (3) the way locals actually pronounce it, which is neither of the previous two. like San Rafell and Beneesha

@secnumbersguy Bro forgot there are two other countries hosting the games. The games have been going on since 1930 outside the US. There are stadiums in other counties bigger than the biggest NFL stadium.

The cool thing about being an American is we are blowing the world’s mind hosting a World Cup that we collectively don’t care about and did nothing to prepare for while our team whoops every country they come across. Oh, and soccer is like the 10th most popular sport in America. 🇺🇸

@BallinFFB Unfortunate for you it’s regulated by FIFA, Fédération Internationale de Football Association. Its football. The US is the only country that calls it soccer. Even if the US wins, even if they do, the cup they will hold, will still have the word Football engraved on it.

@weps721 @welyn Water breaks are given in every game being played, some NFL stadiums are enclosed and are temperate regulated so there is no need for a break, also the breaks are given in Mexico and Canada, where temperatures are no where near 85. So this argument is not valid.

@welyn In the USA, temps over 85 or some sort of heat index requires a water break.i referee. This rule has been in effect for a long time. It's been so hot, two water breaks were given in 90 min games. I've had players suffer heat exhaustion and pass out or vomit.

@sydneyleroux The problem, dualingo teaches you Spanish from Spain. Telemundo Spanish is from Mexico. The slang is different and the speed is different. I was born in Mexico and fluent in Spanish. I can barely keep up with the commentators 💀

Watters: They got on President Trump for building monuments to himself, and then inviting entertainers to come sing. He was doing that for the American people. Obama built a monument literally to himself and then had U2 come and sing and the liberals love it. Jessica: Every president has an opening ceremony. We'll watch when Trump opens his and he'll have Vanilla ICE And Kid Rock and you guys will say we've never heard such a beautiful rendition.

Do you agree with Trump being left out? For the first time in US history the sitting President was not invited to attend the opening of a predecessor's library. Clinton, Bush and Biden all showed up at the Obama library... no Trump. Your Thoughts?

Explain to me @FIFAWorldCup @FIFAcom Why is there a hydration break in the Portugal vs Dr Congo match? The roof is closed, the air conditioning is on and pitch side temperature is 20 degrees. It is utter nonsense and the ad breaks are ridiculous

@gabecamarillo_ Until you realize 90% of the fans are from those countries they are supporting. If it wasn’t for the World Cup, those stadiums would only have 20,000 seats filled in a typical game day. While outside in other countries, 68,000 is a game day practice.

Didn’t realize how huge the World Cup would be in America, until I saw 68,527 people fill Levi’s Stadium for a match between two countries with very little World Cup history (Austria and Jordan). That’s 300 seats short of a sellout for a Tuesday night match at 9pm local time.

@LuluGNavarro In the United States, if you are in public view, ie at the beach, in the street, at a park, walking with your kid, anyone can take your picture or record you without your consent. You can ask them but it’s up to them to stop. That is because you have zero expectation of privacy.

Real question: do I have any rights to not be filmed by people wearing augmented glasses? Is there any way to tell them non-confrontationally to not film me or my child? The law in many places means you can’t record a conversation without the other person knowing.

@flyingsquiggle @t_sadiity It’s a far deeper issue, they may have not chosen to have kids, they may have lost a job, they may have substance abuse, maybe there domestic violence. Maybe it’s a single parent. Maybe it’s a teen mother. There is a lot of dynamics that play into it.

@t_sadiity I do see your point, on the surface it sounds a bit strange. However, that person/s chose to have children, they made that decision, they also I presume (depending on the local system) are able to collect some sort of financial help/benefit anyway.

yall don’t think it’s WEIRD , that CPS will potentially take your kids if you’re struggling (unable to feed them , clothe them , pay for necessary medicines , etc.) 🤔 and then once your kids are taken , they put them in a home with another family , and then give THEM money every month to take care of your kids ?? is that not a fucked up system ?!

He won $40k betting on the Knicks. So he decides to make a complete spectacle of himself and quit his job. He will receive less than $30k after taxes. I'd wager that he'll blow it on trivial things and be broke by next week.
