brackets are guesswork drafts + data-backed scoring aren't building bracketball for march currently deep-diving on every single d1 team (2/365)

starting a series/thread where i randomly select a d1 college hoops team to do a deep-dive on. these analyses will touch on things like returning players, transfer portal news, coaching changes, play styles, incoming recruits, last season’s results and more. these breakdowns will give insight on a lot of the news and info that is currently behind paywalls. i want to be sure that all fanbases have the ability to follow their team’s roster construction. bracketball will be for everyone upon release. i want all of my content to be that way. reply with other content you might like to see during the dog days of the offseason. cheers.

more on justin mcbride since that’s who this story from tipton is about (and from what i can tell, he will be a wildcat soon): mcbride is a talented, 40%+ 3pt shooter. and at 6’7, he is amongst a select group of high usage (25+) forwards 6’6 and up to shoot above this mark. there were 8 in the entire country including guys like: - nick townsend (yale) - nick martinelli (northwestern) - jack karasinski (bellarmine —> northwestern) - drew fielder (boise st. —> alabama) while mcbride isn’t one of the top names left in the portal, he would certainly be an impact player for kentucky. something to keep an eye on.

With Solo Ball set to miss next year to allow his wrist to heal, UConn needs to add more shooting and another ball handler off the bench. Could that be Nils Machowski from Wofford? He's visiting campus on Saturday, and he just might have the shooting touch the Huskies need.

You won’t find many 7 footers under 20 as athletic as Miikka Muurinen After a strong summer with the Finnish NT, Miikka joined Partizan, where he struggled to get any PT, but is looking to be one of the most electric athletes in CBB next year, with UNC and Arkansas in the mix
