This is why I make my own. Real mayonnaise is five ingredients. Your great-grandmother made it with a bowl and a whisk in five minutes. Two egg yolks. One tablespoon lemon juice. One teaspoon Dijon mustard. Half teaspoon salt. One cup avocado or light olive oil. Whisk the yolks, lemon, mustard, and salt together. Add the oil in a slow thin stream while whisking constantly. Don’t rush it. Three to four minutes and you have thick, creamy, real mayonnaise. No soybean oil. No calcium disodium EDTA. No synthetic chemicals designed to trap heavy metals. Keeps in the fridge for a week. Costs less than Hellman’s. And you can pronounce every ingredient. Read your labels. Or better yet, stop buying things that need labels. 🦋
