Published an article on distributed locks. The article covers introduction to distributed locks and contains various scenarios with sequence diagrams that explains lock failures.

I see many folks these days getting rejected at the assessment stage. What's the major reason here?

@mange_manali yes I think so. If enough candidates start doing this practice of not sharing current CTC, things would change in India too, just like US/Europe

Pushed it further. Modeled a double booking system using Uni-1 by @LumaLabsAI multiple users hitting the same resource concurrently. Handled contention → single winner → retries and failure paths. Added conflict resolution + retry with backoff. This is where systems usually break edge cases, race conditions, messy flows. Surprisingly, the model held structure and reasoning really well.

Every engineer has drawn this diagram at some point. Now an image model can too. Tried Uni-1 by @LumaLabsAI; pretty impressive. Gonna try others next.

Perplexity CEO Aravind Srinivas: "One thing that Perplexity has is, every revenue we make, unlike certain other [wrapper] companies, every revenue Perplexity makes has positive gross margins." "Because we route through multiple different models, we're very efficient in terms of how we spend on the tokens... we have all this advantage with RAG and orchestration and search. We don't actually need to blow up the [context]." "Every single penny we make, we make profits on that. But the overall company is still yet to be profitable."

this is actually BIG!! Iran has been targeting Amazon web services Data centres across west asia , already hit Bahrain. It has also threatening to cut Red Sea cables which are dense web of fibre optic cables that carry an ~ 30% of regional internet traffic and connecting continents like Asia, Europe and the Middle East. Amazon is helping to migrate its customers to other region's web servers as part of its mitigation strategies . The war is no longer limited to land , Air or water . its taking over the internet

@curious_coder1 @sarlloc If he returns its arrest. If he tries to buy his way out there’s a whole bunch of parents who have been pushed into unsecured borrowing at high interest because of him. Add to that the fact that he hasn’t paid his investors back yet. He’s now in exile till death.

The most satisfying downfall for me. Salespeople from Byju's would insult kids in front of their parents by asking them questions 2-3 grades above their standard to make them feel dumb and sell their shitty course. One of their loser manager was boasting on linkedin how he tricked a poor farmer to take a loan against his small land to purchase a course from Byju's. Not only that, the farmer put that loser manager's photo in the little temple they have build inside their home, thinking this guy is good for their kid's future. Sales people from Byju's would trick people into getting loans telling them what they are filling is an EMI form and not a loan. They would get their money, and the collecting agents would later on harass the family. All this is just a tip of the iceberg of the shady shit of Byju's They did not build a business, they built an empire of malpractices and scams. I so glad the company is bankrupt.
