I have a friend. Her father is a doctor. Most of his income comes in cash. Every year he files his income tax return. Now his cash on hand has reached ₹35 lakh. One day, he got a call from the Income Tax Department. IT officer: Why are you keeping ₹35 lakh in cash? Please deposit it in the bank. Her father: I do not trust banks. IT officer: But banks are safe. Her father: Will you give me a guarantee? What if the bank shuts down? If I want to withdraw my ₹35 lakh at once, the bank does not give me my own money easily. They ask many questions. If there is fraud in the bank, who will return my money? IT officer: There can also be theft at your home. Her father: Yes, that will be my responsibility. Booked a train ticket via IRCTC for ₹321 (Kanpur → Delhi). Ticket remained Waitlisted (WL 10) and got auto-cancelled. Facts: • Ticket fare: ₹290 • IRCTC charges deducted • Refund received: ₹250 • ₹60 deducted without any service My questions: • Why is IRCTC charging fees when ticket is not confirmed? • What exact rule allows deduction of ₹60 for a cancelled waitlisted ticket? • How is this fair to passengers? Dearest Railway Minister @AshwiniVaishnaw ji, I am asking repeatedly every week. This is very very important & needs immediate attention. Why should a RAC passenger bear full charge for 50% of a side lower seat? Isn't it unfair? Once the chart is prepared, Railways must refund 50% of the fare with interest for RAC passengers. The same source of payment can be used for the refund. Pls implement this immediately. I see many ladies and senior citizens who travel by RAC, without sleep and they pay full charge. This is so unfair. If any of you reading this feel that this should be implemented immediately, comment with your thoughts and share until Railways makes it a fair deal for passengers. Like it or not, a 20% tax on STCG and 12.5% on LTCG is nothing but punishment for daring to invest your post-tax income in the stock market. You already gave away 31.2% of your salary, and now they want a cut of your investments too? This isn't taxation, it's state-sanctioned looting of honest, salaried taxpayers. Meanwhile, corporates escape through fake bills, inflated expenses, and shady loopholes, and it would take years for government to track them. You’ve got to be absolutely inhuman to squeeze the salaried class like this, while letting the big fish swim free.
