@RTSG_Main The FACT is, Stalin had to ammend his policies to be less communist and more nationalist, including rehabilitating the Orthodox Church and appointing a Patriarch, because no one in the USSR was interested in defending Socialism in One Country. They would fight for the Rodina.

@jacobin @DictatorPope No one should take people who choose to be called "Jacobin" seriously. Why not "Bolshevik" or "Khemer Rouge"?

Supporters of Polish prime minister Donald Tusk often justify his conservative policies by warning that the far right might return to power. It’s an illustration of the dangers facing Hungary, if Viktor Orbán’s defeat doesn’t lead to real change.jacobin.com/2026/04/poland…

@dianemontagna @FredSimonTLM On the positive side, if Smoochie excommunicates and declares the SSPX schismatic, then they can have dialog and be invited to say Mass at St. Peter's in the spirit of ecumenism.

@PaulinusOfTrier That is basically the same in all countries. In Hungary, the most important event of the Second World War, and a topic in the Matura, was the destruction of the 2nd Hungarian Army during the otherwise insignificant Stalingrad campaign.

For most Argentinians the important point about the Napoleonic Wars is that a couple of thousand British soldiers were repulsed by a locally raised army during the British incursion on the River Plate. That's it. The Retreat from Moscow, the termination of the Holy Roman Empire, the establishment of the Napoleonic Code, the battles of Austerlitz, Jena, Marengo, Waterloo - these were all sideshows beside the glorious Argentinian victory on the River Plate in 1806.

@FreeIrishman7 @FredSimonTLM If I, as a layman, fancy dress as an archbishop, can I get some personal time with the pope as well? Or are some laymen more equal than others?

Now is a good time to familiarize yourself with the prelude to the Spanish Civil War Because if the right doesn’t learn that particular lesson of history very quickly we’re about to repeat it
Jesse Kelly@JesseKellyDC

Communists are demonic and violent. Democrats are communists. No rhetoric will change or be “toned down.” That has never happened one time in the history of communism. Toning them down is utterly destroying their institutions. All else is cope.

@NovusOrdoWatch I dont get it. As far as I know, even the NO post-concilliar Church doesnt recognize the validity of Anglican 'ordinations', so why treat any of them as anything more than laymen? And yet Prevost meets with a laywoman who pretends to be an Archbishopette in the Vatican.

In this 32-second clip of an Anglican ordination, see Fresno 'Catholic bishop' Joseph Brennan, far left, participate by reciting the formula of ordination and extending his hands. Some are insistent this is not a 'co-consecration', but call it what you like, this is what he did.

Apparently there are members of the American Congress pushing legislation to make veterans of the Israeli military be treated as veterans of the American military. They're rewarding dual loyalty. military.com/feature/2026/0…

@TheWorthyHouse @AuronMacintyre Unfortunately, Franco won a temporary victory. As soon as he left the scene, the Left returned. If Mola and Franco and the rest could have been transported to 2026 on the eve of their revolt, they would have concluded that they failed. We fight against Powers & Principalities

@SkyeRangerNick @magyarpeterMP That is because there is only one third person pronoun in Hungarian: ő. So it translates into English as he, she, AND it, depending on who or what is being described.

@hu_conservative It also seems that Magyar is at least talking in a way that suggests he isn't going to be making a left turn. Basically keeping most of the popular parts of Orbánism, with a more EU friendly tone, and less corruption. We still have to see if he can keep the Jacobins in line.

📊First post-election polling data indicate a widening gap between Hungary’s incoming governing Tisza Party and Fidesz–KDNP, with support shifting decisively in favour of the winner. The results reflect not only a post-election ‘honeymoon effect’ around Tisza, but also an intensifying internal crisis within Fidesz regarding the interpretation of the election results👇 hungarianconservative.com/articles/curre…
