@espressofloat @billybinion You realize DIA makes like 2x a year in profit than it would cost to pay their TSA agents with no changes right? They could also just add a 1 dollar surcharge per person who travels through it and produce 80 million a year in extra cash. Which would fully pay TSA there

@mazemoore extremely useless comparison, ukraine is the defender in an attack from russia, while the US is the aggressor in a baseless war against iran

Remember, for the past four years Bernie and his colleagues have told us that we had to continue to financially support Ukraine, whatever the cost may be.
Sen. Bernie Sanders@SenSanders

The war in Iran has already cost $22.8 billion. For $22.8 billion, we could: • Provide Medicaid to 6.8 million kids • Build 2.6 million public housing units • Fund Head Start for 1.3 million • Hire 240,000 teachers • Cancel $20,000 in student debt for 1 million borrowers

@GneissName @JRBendixen @CameronCorduroy research funded by private entities is far less trustworthy than NSF/NIH funded research, for obvious reasons research is a thankless job that takes years of dedication, high levels of education, and pays very poorly the situation is far more complex than you think it is

is endorsing jill stein and wishing her happy birthday “sounding the alarm like crazy”? because in this video you say trump isn’t antiwar and joe biden only “sometimes” pretends to be. sounds like you already knew exactly what trump was and still decided to throw away your vote and encouraged others to do the same.
Secular Talk ([email protected])@KyleKulinski

I was sounding the alarm like crazy before the election, knowing it was going to be a disaster, but even I underestimated how truly horrific it would be.

@wokal_distance leftists do not give a shit about the culture war. we will stand up for those displaced by the culture war, but real policy is what drives us forward.

Leftists play this game where they start culture war fights, and then when they start losing because their views on those issues are unpopular, they act like the fights that they started are a distraction created by the right to avoid talking about "real issues."
Marco Foster@MarcoFoster_

Graham Platner: “Every single breath we take discussing culture war stuff is a breath we are not talking about universal healthcare. It’s a breath we are not talking about going after wealth where it’s been hoarded. Not talking about breaking up corporate monopoly power. That’s what we need to be focusing on. But we do not sell people out. A politics that is willing to sell anyone out will eventually sell everyone out”

No dumb wars. No elite impunity. These principles led to @RepThomasMassie & my work on the two most consequential matters of this Congress. The Epstein Transparency Act & Iran WPR. We are standing with the people against a corrupted government that has sold us out.

@Jackkk how do you leave a tip on a bill that someone else paid 💀💀 writing on that receipt just charges the person who paid

MrBeast explains why he now ALWAYS asks for a receipt “One of the first times someone paid for my meal, I didn’t get a receipt. I asked the waiter, ‘So I’m good to go?’ They said yeah. Then the next day it’s on the front page of Reddit with the headline MrBeast didn’t tip” “But they conveniently leave out that someone else paid the bill. It’s like, one of the largest philanthropists in the world can’t afford to tip? I didn’t even get the bill. I don’t carry cash, how do you want me to tip? Do you want me to wave my hand and spawn some money? “So now if someone pays for my meal, I won’t leave until someone gives me a receipt so I can leave a tip”

@Notabot1185810 @politicalmath many on the left are for nuclear power. generally, i am in the camp of there is nothing nuclear power can achieve that widespread integration of renewable energy generation cannot. some areas with inconsistent success may benefit

Anytime there's some project that would bolster the US militarily, economically, technologically, the left is against it. No to nuclear power. The anti 'sprawl' movement that helped to drive up housing costs. Opposition to natural gas export infrastructure. Data centers would bolster our compute power, so the left is against it. I have my pet theory - the left hates America and has the ability to rapidly deploy bogus talking-points to rile up large numbers of soft-heads they indoctrinated via their monopoly over the public education system and the mainstream press and the entertainment industry. I *know* I sound like Sean Hannity, but I think it's basically that simple – socialists hate America for winning the Cold War, and they've spent generations securing control of our culture-making capital so they can endlessly try and wound us at every turn. It's not about energy usage, or water, or anything – those are talking points. At core, the problem the left has with data centers is that they're economically important and it would be good for us to have them. That's enough for them to want them shut down and blocked at every return.

@Notabot1185810 @politicalmath stopping urban sprawl does not drive up housing costs, so long as scarcity can be avoided by building upwards. it has be paired with more relaxed zoning. this is what most major cities in the world do btw

@Notabot1185810 @politicalmath you may actually be a bot if you believe this. shockingly, we actually want to see the US become a better place! data centers drove up electricity costs for normal people significantly and are polluting meccas. they provide essentially no benefit for the everyday person

If I were a leftist, my thought process in 2016 would’ve been: “Hillary is not my ideal candidate, but if we secure a liberal majority on the Supreme Court now, that could be useful for a further left candidate in 2020 or 2024” Can a leftist tell why this wasn’t their mindset?

@dcs_vortex @Telegraph i’m not kidding when I say these things are so rudimentary concepts in research that there is legitimately 0 shot you have ever worked in any form of scientific “research and analysis” before in your life. or, this is just all in bad faith. in that case, why lol

Or, people who work in research and analysis, will critique a clearly lazy job that is filled with red flags and knows the technical language to look out for such as “reject null hypothesis” meaning they reject their hypothesis that there’s no difference, because the data points to an alternative fact. Or the part where they literally state the research is of “low quality”? Also, what researcher takes self reported data as factual evidence? We all know people lie. Then the real nail in the coffin is where they clearly state that their conceptual model “could be wrong and incorrectly estimate “ Would you accept any of that , if it were the absolute opposite? No, those are the exact red flags anyone should be pointing out.
