After years of campaigning, @BessemerGrange was the first school in Southwark to get a school street. 5 years later, the council want to remove the bollards. Please sign our petition to keep our school street safe. Cameras are not enough. change.org/p/save-our-sch…

@RailtonLTN @GAILsBakery Apparently they don't honour the paper cards, only the loyalty points in the new app. I can't understand why they bother giving out and stamping the paper cards then.

@GreenPeterU @reece_dinsdale 2/2 the fact that so many women perceive and explain the risks to themselves should be enough to show that they exist. Everyone's rights, trans or not, need to be balanced.

@GreenPeterU @reece_dinsdale That may not be true though, depending on defining "being trans". If you include in that category sex offenders who try to get placed in women's prisons, or who misuse female-only spaces, then there are real risks. If those people aren't "trans" then self ID is the problem. 1/2

Not trying to be remotely antagonistic but I’m genuinely confused about this trans/woman thing. Don’t we have to live and let live? How does someone transitioning into a woman take away from a woman being a woman? Maybe I’m naive. 🤷‍♂️ No offence meant to anyone.

@etta_collier Yes that first point is what I’m interested in. I don’t know enough about people’s various mobility needs to say, so it’s interesting to hear (as well as lots of excellent suggestions for making other transport more accessible)

🧠Thought experiment🧠 Imagine London had banned private cars some time ago, but all other forms of public and personal transportation still existed (except better, because no cars). What additional provision would be needed on top of that for people with reduced mobility?

Dear @peterwalker99 my buses were running 30 to 50 minutes early in London during this period due to lockdowns…… are you seriously gaslighting people into believing evaporation took place …… seriously wow …

@bobafet123 If she and the children go skiing, then they have appropriate clothes for the weather. So they don't have that excuse. It does seem contrary.

@AndrewMartinAHA @wonderfullyarty So can you point me to evidence that improving active travel safety has had a negative impact on disabled peoples lives? I’m trying to understand here, it’s important lessons are learned if mistakes are made

Why do people get so angry at active travel consultations?

@conspiracycab1 @BobFromAccounts I think people just don't realise how efficient a cycle lane is. 750 cyclists an hour would look almost empty. The capacity is closer to 10k per hour. Around 3k per hour starts to look busy.

@BobFromAccounts That counter is like the rest of Khans transport policies- imaginary! 5000 a day? We had a week of snow so it’s probably nearer 7500 a day. Realistically, spread over a 10 hour day, that’s 750 an hour- no way!

Those ridiculous empty cycle lanes are at it again. Only 100000 journeys since the beginning of the year in mid-winter. Embarrassing. Embankment #CS3

@bikesandbabies Twitter cabbies have pushed me to this point as well. I just wouldn't get one now, and risk getting a driver with attitudes/views they share on here.

@TomViolins Unfortunately when they last reviewed this junction and put in the left turn lane from Norwood Rd to Dulwich Rd, active travel wasn't a council priority. I've cycle commuted through that junction since 2004 and it's always been terrible. Definitely needs more attention.
