@SECSupremacyCFB @CFBwSam They have the most loaded roster in the country. Why wouldn't they be top five?

@crazyunclelou @mattdavid1035 @tbhorka Is there any "rules" ND follows that other school are not allowed too? It sounds like there are two options and everyone but ND chose the other option. Go independent if you want to operate like ND. Fuck, the sec doesn't even have a fee for leaving

ND doesn't have to do anything. And teams dont have to schedule ND. ND wants to be included in the rest of college football (postseason) but wants to operate under a different set of rules than everyone else (they get to schedule half their games, everyone else gets to schedule 3 - they want a playoff guarantee if they are ranked inside the top 12, nobody else has that).

Texas firmly believes it missed the CFP last year because it played and lost to Ohio State in Week 1, completely glossing over an inexcusably bad loss to 4-8 Florida later in the year, so I'm not surprised the UT administration is mulling over whether or not to play Notre Dame.
Brett McMurphy@Brett_McMurphy

Texas & Notre Dame scheduled to play home/home series in 2028-29, but UT AD Chris Del Conte wouldn’t fully commit the games would be played. “They’re ‘tentatively’ on the schedule right now,” Del Conte said

@AbsoWeebUnit @mercedarri Kobe was never the best player in the league let alone in contention for all time, so I don't think Kobe is a good comp for verstappen

@mercedarri From the comments, is Hamilton and Schumacher like LeBron and Jordan while Verstappen Kobe? (I don't think Kobe is top 3, I just felt it fit more based on my zero knowledge on cars)

I mean, Auburn and Virginia Tech could be really good by then. Hard to project SOS a full season in advance. I suspect the last game will be against a big name, though. If it’s a road game against a typical CFP contender, the schedule could be quite good.

Notre Dame's 2027 football schedule with one opponent TBD: Purdue at Michigan State Auburn Kent State Georgia Tech at Wake forest (in Charlotte) at Clemson Virginia Tech Navy BYU at Stanford That's the easiest slate of the Marcus Freeman era so far. on3.com/teams/notre-da…

@flioxan @BCrawford247 It makes me laugh when ND fans say well your conference commissioner voted for this. I DONT CARE!!! The leaders of college football make decisions literally every day that hurt our sport and you think because they are leaders of conferences that I care. I don’t!

@GriffithJaxon @BCrawford247 The MoU that the B1G and SEC offered to ND in exchange for their vote? Why arent you blaming your own conference for coming up with the idea and offering it to ND

@BCrawford247 Still infuriating that people have just skipped passed this MOU saying ND automatically gets in the playoffs by being in the top 12 essentially giving them an autobid without winning a championship game and it’s a joke! The leaders of college football just pander to them.

@CFBwSam These are already adjusted for the schedule. If you don't trust these metrics just don't use them, but double dipping on SoS is weird

FEI and SP+ had Oregon 2nd and 3rd, respectively, so this topic is up for debate, but I think adjusting for schedule and the consensus metrics slightly favors Oregon. Regardless, Oregon and Notre Dame have top-three rosters this year and are both playoff locks.

Notre Dame and Oregon were much closer together than either was to Texas, but I have to wonder if ND being ranked higher in some of these ratings has to do with their big wins over Navy, Syracuse, Stanford, and Pittsburgh, who all would have also been handily defeated by Iowa, Washington, Indiana, and Texas Tech. Easier schedules can seduce these ratings.

@CFBwSam OSU could lose 3 of those games in that insane schedule we got this year. Could be very very close losses. I just don’t see us surviving it with the O line we have.

Some brief post-spring takeaways (subject to change): - Indiana stock is being sold as recruiting season is in full force; don't fall for it. - The national media is overreacting to Oregon for getting blown out in the CFP and effectively rewarding Texas and Notre Dame for not making it. They might be worse than Texas or ND, but it feels like the consensus across the board is they are, and the Ducks were the best out of the three last year. - Texas Tech is worse without Sorsby, but is clearly a top ten team still with that roster. - People (myself included) overvalued Michigan over the past two years, and that, combined with the spring game reactions, has people underestimating how much better Whittingham is than Moore. Michigan likely won't make the CFP, but 8-4 or 9-3 Michigan is probably top-10 or top-15 in power ratings with that schedule. - Miami is an absolute wild card. You can make a case for them to have a top-four roster, but also to be on the fringes of the top ten. - Texas A&M is beyond overrated, and it's another example of people giving coaches equal benefit of the doubt and therefore viewing recruiting rankings as the sole separator. Elko is a good coach, but only returning Reed and Craver on that offense is rough. - One of Texas and Ohio State is likely to miss the CFP. Those schedules are insane; they play each other, and both teams are relying on a lot of portal pieces to hit to be top five (without having Kiffin's or Cignetti's reputation of hitting there). Both teams are sitting at 9.5-win totals, while everyone is picking them to win 10-12 regular-season games. - Georgia is in a tricky situation. They don't have the aliens that Ohio State and Texas do, despite often being ranked with them in post-spring polls. They do, however, have superior roster cohesion and game management compared to those teams, and that schedule is easy. Smart will utilize his roster better than Day or Sark will. They are a CFP lock, along with Indiana, Oregon, and Notre Dame, and, for my money, they are a lock to win the SEC until proven otherwise.

@GuruFantasyWrld He made the biggest catch of Texas A&M's season and won the Notre Dame game. He doesn't drop passes. He's tough as nails. He's clutch. I'd take him back in an instant.

I present to you: Nate Boerkircher He wasn’t productive (38 career receptions in 52 career games; below 10 receptions each of his first 4 seasons; never above 200 yards). He’s not athletic (4.40 shuttle; DNP in every other drill). He can’t break tackles (never broke more than 1 broken tackle in a single-season; career .078 MTF/reception). He gains no yardage after-the-catch (career 4.3 YAC/reception). & he’s not even that good of a blocker (below a 70.0 PFF Run-Block Grade until his 5th & final season). Not only is he bad at everything – but he also isn’t good at anything. Just a genuine, total waste of RD2 capital. 🔥🔥🔥🔥

With the final pick of Thursday night’s first round, the Seahawks selected Notre RB Jadarian Price. There never had been a year in which the top two running backs were selected from the same school. Now both Jeremiyah Love and Price accomplished that feat for the Fighting Irish.
