Apart from the current controversy at #Lenskart, another issue many consumers keep reporting on @LocalCircles & @X is the usage of #darkpatterns by the platform. Something they continue to use despite #CCPA barring their use… @ProsaicView @VishnuFNO @malpani @ikaveri @vijai63 @JIX5A @ggganeshh @i_m_prapti @swatic12 @col_chaubey @pvsubramanyam @TrulyMonica @rishibagree @manishasinghal @monidipadey @1987Kulbhushan

Amid a falling stock, @Lenskart_com has perfected a modern scam. They promise cashback, then quietly design the system so you never receive it. Nothing illegal. Everything intentional. A textbook dark pattern dressed up as a “premium” benefit. (1/n)

Just see this photo and ask yourself - WHY? From national TV to this stark reality - WHY? Dr. Pranaya Ray, one of the architects of modern Indian TV news, co-founder of NDTV, and a renowned economist, chartered accountant, pollster, journalist and author - who pioneered election forecasting in India - is now travelling across West Bengal, recording interviews on his own mobile phone for his digital platform Dekoder @DeKoderAI. Salute to Dr. Roy (@PrannoyRoy7749) for remaining an inspiration to honest journalism across the globe. What has changed? Who is accountable? History will not forget. Nor will it forgive.

A smartphone brand just filed law suits against 300+ social media accounts (including influencers). They say people made negative content around the brand that has hurt their brand image... A first for the Indian market.. Any guess which brand it is?

Thank you @hydcitypolice & H-FAST 🙏 For a long time, this area has been a hub for adulteration and counterfeit products. I urge State and Central tax authorities to conduct raids in Begum Bazaar and crack down on large-scale tax evasion, also known as “Zero Dhandha.”
@Coreena Enet Suares@CoreenaSuares2

It needed spree of raids to bring Begum Bazar traders to an understanding on how detrimental is adulteration. Begum Bazar traders have assured not to engage or supply adulterated materials. This comes after cops seizing 129.34 tonnes of adulterated food and registered 117 cases across the city since February. Thank you @SajjanarVC_IPS Sir

BJP looted 44 lakh crore rupees from taxes on petroleum. They give three reasons for utilisation of this loot: 1. Repayment of Oil bonds 2. New roads were built 3. People are getting cash subsidies through DBT All three reasons are misleading. 1. Oil Bonds repayments: • Out of 44 lakh crore, only 3.3 lakh crore was the repayment. • It is Just 7% of total tax on petroleum. • For every ₹1 repaid, ₹13 was pocketed BY THE Modi government. 2. Roads were built • NHAI debt in 2025 was ₹3.35 lakh crore, twice the oil bonds! • The roads are being privatised and toll this year was nearly 73000 crore rupees. • Roads were built on borrowed money, future tolls are pledged to repay loans and reward investors, and people continue to pay rising tolls to drive on those roads. 3. The money went to the poor The subsidy bill has actually drastically fallen during Modi regime, since 2014. • Total Subsidy share of budget: fell from 16.3% → 13.06% • Petroleum subsidies: collapsed from 5.1% → 0.24% • Fertilizer subsidy: reduced 9.6 % → 7.33% • Housing subsidy is stagnant • DBT didn’t expand welfare, it rebranded existing schemes and reduced the budgets The Debt Trap • the total debt goes up from 55 lakh crore rupees in 2014 to 218.63 lakh crore rupees in current financial year! • India now pays ₹11 lakh crore/year in interest alone • Every citizen carries ₹1.5 lakh in debt, not counting off-budget liabilities I write for @NH_India ✍️ @INCIndia @kharge @RahulGandhi nationalheraldindia.com/opinion/modi-g…

Yesterday i met a founder who graduated from Yale and came back to India to build a biotech company. They're trying to make vaccines for liver and pancreatic cancer and other infectious diseases that kill 80-90% of patients within five years. Team of 100+ scientists, AI engineers and medical specialists based in India who got research grants from some of the world's most credible institutions. But they're unable to raise VC money from Indian investors because most can't underwrite a 7-10 year bet on deep science. So they're moving the legal entity outside India to access international investors. Another issue is the slow regulatory framework. India holds 17% of the world's population and 20% of its disease burden, but runs barely 1.2% of global clinical trials. Getting regulatory approval for a clinical trial takes a few years sometimes versus a few weeks in the US or China. So this company is doing their first phase of trials outside of India. We need two things to change. First on funding, we need a dedicated health fund which is government backed with a 10-15+ year horizon, willing to take the early risk that commercial VCs can't model. This is something we're trying to do at Rainmatter across all our investments. If we want a better healthcare , we need a system to support innovators. On regulation, maybe add more staffing bandwidth and bring updates to clinical frameworks at CDSCO with a 30 day timeline and a parallel ethics review that moves fast. We've the talent and science here and the patients are here. What's missing is the institutional will to back them. We just keep making it someone else's problem to fund. It's shouldn't be acceptable that Indian talent runs the science but India won't own the upside.

I just found these photos of the schoolwork of 9-year-old Ritaj Rihan, who was shot in the head and killed by Israeli terrorist forces yesterday in a classroom tent in northern Gaza. One photo shows Ritaj’s practicing handwriting. The words on the page were orange, banana, and apple. برتقالة/موز/تفاحة The other photo shows her solving subtraction problems. She was murdered in front of her teacher and peers, leaving behind only these unfinished lessons.

24 questions. 3 hearings. Zero apologies. They asked him - “Do you feel remorse?” No. “Are you sorry?” No. “Apologise and this disappears.” Still no. Because Article 19(1)(a) wasn’t written so artists could fold it up and hand it back the moment a powerful politician gets uncomfortable with satire. Kunal Kamra has challenged the government’s unconstitutional Fact-Check Unit in court, challenged the Sahyog portal, and now he’s standing in their own legislature, refusing to bend. Youth of India, this is your role model. Not the ones on billboards. What other artist in this country is holding the line right now?
Scroll.in@scroll_in

Comedian Kunal Kamra said that he could not tender an unconditional apology as it “would not be sincere” and would “set a terrible precedent” for other artists and their freedom of expression. Read more: scroll.in/latest/1092008…

US and Israel bombed at "least 763 schools and 316 health care facilities" in Iran I struggle to understand why so many civilian targets were hit. If the stated goal is to “free” the Iranian people, this is not how you do it. This is how you lose them nytimes.com/interactive/20…

First, through SIR, opposition voters are excluded. Second, the Supreme Court and the ECI say get lost to the opposition. Third, news channels host debates to criticise only opposition. Fourth, media outlets cover everything the BJP does but nothing the opposition does. Fifth, the opposition may release video evidence of the BJP offering money in exchange for votes but nothing happens. And then they say opposition cant win elections 😂

Gyanesh Kumar is able to all these crimes because BJP passed the CEC appointments Act in 2023 which gave complete criminal immunity for life time for the three Election Commissioners. Congress will come to power and retrospectively amend the act and put Gyanesh behind bars for the crimes he did against the nation. We will never let him escape the punishment. Kudos to the observer Anurag Yadav for showing courage and standing up to this criminal. Wish the complicit media had 1% of the courage that Anurag had.

BOOM here is the transcript (word by word) of what transpired between the TMC & the CeC with the infamous “get lost” from the EC The four member Trinamool Congress delegation consisting of Derek O’Brien, Sagarika Ghose, Menaka Guruswamy and Saket Gokhale take their seats at 10.03 on 8 April 2026. Full bench of EC present in conference room. Meeting begins. I. The same nine letters written by the Chief Minister of West Bengal (which the CEC ignored and not reply to) over the last few months, were handed over directly to the CEC. II. Derek O’Brien read out portions from the memorandum of AITC, outlining five specific instances of the appointment of officers on election duty in Bengal. O’Brien then said: (VERBATIM from here on) “We live in the hope that there would be free and fair elections. Our memorandum will now be handed over to you directly. In the memorandum, we have expressed grave concern regarding politically compromised officials and observers undermining electoral neutrality in West Bengal were highlighted… CEC: Just one minute from my side. The election commission is committed... Derek O’Brien: See Mr. Kumar we have been here 8-9 times before and your fellow commissioners have not uttered a word. Dr. Joshi, Dr. Sandhu have not uttered a word in the last 8-9 meetings. But that is your call. We have heard enough of (hollow) words from you but we are not seeing any action on the ground CEC: Are you done? Then I'll speak. Derek O’Brien: (normal tone) I thought we would congratulate you for being the first CEC in history to have a notice for removal against you (submitted in both houses of Parliament). CEC: Don't speak loudly. Derek O’Brien: (now raising voice) Don’t tell me whether to speak loudly or not. CEC: You don't speak loud in this room. Thank you. GET LOST! Derek O’Brien: You said ‘Get lost’. You told us to ‘Get Lost’. You actually told us to ‘Get Lost’ CEC: You cannot shout. Derek O’Brien: You can't tell us to ‘Get Lost’ (Delegation leaves room saying: “Sleep well. Sleep well”)

Unbelievable! Justice Yashwant Varma resigns on the VERY DAY he was to defend against impeachment process in "cash-at-home" case. He gets a dignified exit! Faces no action unless CJI orders FIR. So far no FIR (bcos of impeachment!). No, no excuses. ndtv.com/india-news/cas…
