“Grandma, sit down!” The aerial reconnaissance unit of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ 60th Brigade spotted her from the sky. A soldier from the “Cerberus” squad came up with an idea. He took out a blanket and wrote in large letters: “Grandma, get in!” Seeing the message, she realized they were friendly and climbed into the ground robot. At the same time, a drone escorted three other civilians who were moving on foot, and the rescue operation lasted four hours. One of the most cynical Russian war crimes is the systematic, calculated transfer of Ukrainian children, scattering them across Russia, concealing their fate, “reprogramming” their culture, and continuously, shamelessly subjecting them to militarization. It is vitally important to bring our children back home from there. Before the Russians break them. And every initiative, every activity, every effort that helps achieve this also helps Ukraine. I said this while addressing participants of the Civil Society and Expert Day. Thanks to our Bring Kids Back UA initiative, we have secured 2,126 returns, and we will continue this work. We have engaged strong international mediators to help bring the children home. I am grateful to every country that has joined our Coalition for the Return of Children. I want to thank every leader of the countries contributing to the effort, and every First Lady of countries that care and are concerned about the fate of abducted children. I thank our Bring Kids Back team. I am grateful to all diplomats, international organizations, and journalists who maintain focus on the rescue of children.

January 2023. Do you remember Chris Parry, the British volunteer who was killed whilst carrying out humanitarian work in Sorodol, Ukraine?🇬🇧 He is known for having helped evacuate more than 400 Ukrainians. This January, a documentary about him was broadcast in Japan. His life was cut short by a bullet at the age of just 28💔 Many of his fellow volunteers and friends from his home town of Cornwall spoke of his character, revealing him to be a dynamic individual with a strong sense of justice. There are still volunteers carrying on his legacy through humanitarian aid work. He wanted to help the people of Ukraine. That passion of his lives on today. 🇺🇦🫂🥀🕊
