Trump actually called it a “stupid question” when a reporter asked about the possibility that Russia might be helping Iran target American forces. Think about that for a second. A question about whether a hostile power could be helping an enemy target and potentially kill Americans was dismissed as “stupid.” What exactly is going on here? At this point people are left wondering whether Russia has something on him. Because the reaction makes no sense. Absolutely none. When a president refuses to even seriously address the possibility that an adversary could help attack U.S. troops, it raises far more questions than it answers. Nothing about that response sounds normal leadership. What do you think explains a reaction like that from a U.S. president? And if an adversary helping target American troops is treated as a “stupid question,” what kind of message does that send to both allies and enemies?
