There is no way to justify this or a polity that allows it.

@stephen_demsich In congregational denominations, the members of the church can vote out the pastor and he would have no court of appeal. At least within the Presbyterianism, the pastor has an appeal process.

On the PCA blundering of justice for Garris: I appreciate the Westminster Standards stronger stance on the civil magistrate and added detail marriage and divorce. Yet it seems that Reformed Baptists signing the Savoy Declaration (and forming independent churches) was a wise decision. Separation helps to protect churches from this kind of heinous behavior from Rio Grande, I don’t think the Reformers or the Reformed Orthodox ever imagined the church courts being weaponized, let alone promote such hypocritical, heavy-handed leadership. May God be merciful, grant repentance to the PCA Rio Grande, and uphold Rev. Garris. @ZacharyGarris

@SandyofCthulhu I was always annoyed by this constant battle with THQ where we were constantly creating throwaway art for demos/checkpoints just because execs could not conceptualize what a WIP was. So much wasted time and effort.

The boss came in unexpectedly one day to see how we were doing. Of course he had a perfect right to do so. But He couldn't understand why people had giant mobs of "scout horses". He asked why there were Hs floating on the screen. He thought they were bugs and wanted us to fix them. We tried to explain it again and again and again, but he could not be made to understand. He was a smart guy, too. But he was a business man and something in his DNA didn't let him comprehend the idea of "stand-in art". So what did we do? We had to interrupt the whole carefully-thought-out art plan to finish these two units prematurely, and it sucked. More for the artists than me. And as I said, he was the BEST boss I had. 2/2

As a game dev, you have to prevent upper-level hierarchy from seeing your stuff prematurely. When we were doing Age of Empires 2, our boss was literally the best I've ever worked for. Early on, the art was not finished (of course) so to represent Champions we used two-handed swordsmen with a floating letter H over their heads. The H was for Hero. We also had camels, but to represent them, we used scout horses. No one would be confused, because you only got 1 scout horse at game start, and no one made more. Our artists had far more critical tasks than finishing these units right away and the stopgap worked fine. Everyone in a playtest instantly knew that an H swordsman was a champion and a big mass of "scouts" had to be camels. Also if you clicked on a camel, it said it was a camel. 1/2

Im buying a small herd of Zebu from @IBCking01 and in talks with a solar company about multi species grazing cattle AND sheep on a solar site I know @GrayFeist and @SiliconRanchCo are both working independently on proof of concept but this could be huge for local food production

@bowtiedfarmer Doesn't matter where I go right now but I usually drag in at least one tick a day on me. Short grass, tall grass, woods, brush, etc... I'm pulling off a tick that's bit either me or my wife at least once a week right now. My dogs and barn cats are both getting bit frequently too

We’re seeing tons of tick hysteria on the timeline every day. I spend 90% of my time outside. I haven’t found a tick on myself or my family in probably 2 years. Knock on wood but I can’t confirm the hype. Also this is just crazy

@DukePrettiGood @OldHollowTree They tend to be slightly bigger on average (some of my ducks do lay eggs about twice the size of my Rhode Island Reds though). The yolk to white ratio is much higher on duck eggs which is part of what increases the protein count. They also tend to be much creamier and richer.

Man, chickens really are just one of the best ratios of work to calories. Open up the coop door, let them eat bugs, and they create perfect food. Truly remarkable.

@TexasPreacher Nursing homes fall into this category as well. The sermons need to be short and direct, skipping the jargon and making the text abundantly clear and structured. If you try anything fancy you're going to lose them. Show them Christ and show them well.

The reason that preaching in the streets, jails, and homeless shelters is so useful for preachers, and especially the Reformed type, is that it requires you to interact with the unwashed, unclean, non-church people, and to learn how to do so in a way that they understand. They don't care about Calvin, theological nitpicking, seminary jargon, and ethereal platitudes. It'll teach you not to preach over people's heads and to keep your fancy language in the study. It trains you to keep to the point—Jesus Christ and Him crucified. If you're a preacher or a seminary student, go find a fishing hole outside of the church bubble & plunge in.

@SaraHigdon @ImGinnyRobinson That makes sense, was hard to see but most of them didn't have any unit patches on the left arm. Feels more like BCT->AIT than a combat deployment.

@ImGinnyRobinson My guess is these are basic trainees from Fort Benning being sent too their AIT. One this is Hartsfield Jackson Airport in Atlanta, they are all fresh shaved head, (saw only one female), and some are even still wearing BCGs. So I doubt they are heading overseas.
