@HiKidHey I'd be interested in seeing the absolute numbers of teaching and non-teaching staff or if the ratio has changed much. If the absolute number of non-teaching staff is small compared to teaching staff, pushing to bring it back down may not result in significant gains in outcomes.

Enrollment in Colorado’s schools has steadily declined since 2019, while education spending on non-academic staff has skyrocketed.
Colorado embraced the Whole Child model (WSCC) which has turned schools away from their academic missions and made them into hubs for social services such as mental health, Social Emotional Learning, School Based Health Centers, and food distribution centers.

@Jake_Fogleman Seems like it would be more illuminating to look at state revenue or per capita spending. Colorado's tax rate is relatively low but when you include state fees the effective tax rate is in the top third of states I believe.
