Heartbreaking F40 huge crash on the A5 today! Apparently it was in with a specialist for some work? 👀

@KatieSi09663097 @paulmk17 @real_shirelass Whatever agenda you want to be true, simply isn't. They've "spent" 170K, but on saleable items for bars, cafes, and venues for weddings and parties. but earnt presumably more. This isn't consumption for councillors, as much as you want it to be.

@KatieSi09663097 @paulmk17 @real_shirelass A trivial google reveals that this expenditure was to buy stock for vending machines and bars run by the council. They make a profit in these goods, which means your local taxation is lower. Happy to help.

@paulmk17 @real_shirelass Our council, North Ayrshire, spent £170000 on biscuits, tea and coffee. We don't have gritters in out street, our schools are a joke, we sometimes don't get our bins emptied. I would rather pay a spark a one off fee to fix the lights on the street and do a skip run.

@LakesBuddhist What better form for sitting, staring, mulling "the riddle of existence" than the output of the spirograph. Love it. I look forward to this read.

A few days ago I revealed the project that I've been on with recently...my memoir of dad! I've now begun putting together a website about dad and the book - and will keep it updated as things progress. Only a bit on there at the moment - but it's a start! denysfisher.com

@HydrometryEA Nice, very fancy. Here's ours for our wireless depth sensors. We can remotely operate the pump to fill the column.

Over the past couple of weeks we have been testing some pressure sensors on our rig. We are able to apply a water level of around 3.5m to check sensors are providing the correct output up and down the range, this proves the equipment works correctly prior to field deployment.

Goodbye twitter. The owner of this platform is now weighing in on British politics emboldening the racists further with his massive reach. I don’t need to play a part in this, bye friends.

The stunning wood carving near Kendal Parish Church based on the John Speed Map of 1612. Definitely worth a closer look. 🥰

Excited to share with you my next adventure. Exploring mainland Scotland again - this time on foot. I'm calling this adventure "The Four Corners". Beginning in the south on 1st Jan '25 & finishing in the north via the geographical centre of mainland Scotland. Details to follow.😊

@garicgymro no chance. When we made our first trip to US, I pretended to the kids 4,6 that we had to learn "American" and phoentically wrote some key phrases to learn. hearing them practise "bardel of warder" had us crying.

As an example of the difference between 🇺🇸 and 🇬🇧 phonology here: My kids are watching Henry Danger, and they just made a pun based on "con" (as in conference) being homophonous with Khan (as in Chaka Khan). I don't *think* that works at all anywhere in 🇬🇧.
Gareth Roberts@garicgymro

The complication is that "pronounce kam as in comma" is advice designed for 🇺🇸 speakers who have the same vowel (/ɑ/) in comma, calm, spot, and spa. I'm not convinced 🇬🇧 people are well advised to follow the same advice. "Pronounce kam like calm" is surely a better model there.

@Factsofw0rld Somewhat better advice is: Never touch wires. Especially if you don’t know if they are live or not.

Amazing facts!
Amazing facts!@Factsofw0rld·
Always touch wires with the back of your hand first. If the wires are live and they shock you, they will cause your muscles to contract and if you touch it with your palm then your hand may close on the wire, trapping you and almost guaranteeing you will die.
