News from Columbia, Tennessee, where developers want to put 1,300 homes and a hotel on a former Monsanto plant site — Is this real life?? 🤦🏻‍♂️ —— At the most recent Regional Planning Commission Meeting, representatives for parties seeking to develop the former Monsanto chemical plant site made a presentation on a plan to build more than 1,300 homes there; I made a prediction on what I believe we will see in a future pivot of those plans. But regardless, the fact that this is even an issue being seriously considered is, in my opinion, an indictment on every party who is seeking to capitalize from it. #MonsantoMeadows

The Death of Free Speech - a short film: 10 minutes - Columbia; Maury County, Tennessee Earlier this month, Chris Gramling, an undisputed property owner in Maury County, reported his belief that County Commissioner and Admin Committee Member Jerry Bridenbaugh as well as County Attorney Daniel Murphy had engaged in ethics violations. The report was made by Mr. Gramling to Chairman of the Admin Committee, Eric Previti. I know that to be true; as I was there. Watch — and listen — as Chairman Previti guides this exchange, based on information from Murphy, and with an assist on the vote from Bridenbaugh, to deny Mr. Gramling the right to speak. This is how free speech dies, every day, in near-empty meeting rooms and old courthouses; where the people hardly stand a chance against those in power. It’s taken us 250 years to be right back where we were; begging some modern day king - just to be able to speak. We must draw a line at free speech.
