Attention, Helldivers. A hotfix is planned for Wednesday, May 6. This will revert the Hive Guard and fix an issue introduced in Patch 6.2.1 where armor values were incorrectly swapped between the Legs and Claws. Updated Hive Guard stats: Main Body - Armor increased from 1 → 2 - Health increased from 375 → 500 Head - Armor decreased from 4 → 3 Front Legs - Armor increased from 2 → 3 Claws - Armor decreased from 3 → 1 We are reviewing player feedback, including durability damage, so next week we will also address some of these questions and others which our founder has received in various forums. Thank you for the continued support and feedback.

@Long_shankers The change works to encourage new adaptation to the enemies and freshening up an overlooked enemy players who like taking down larger targets can now focus new enemies
And teammates are encouraged to play with eachothers strengths even more

@Long_shankers Basically if you want to play the game in a way of mowing down enemies but are countered by chargers and hive guards you have a teammate with a load out to deal with it who likes their own playstyle
Every playstyle in the game is possible as long as a team works well together!

While I'm saddened by this reverted change as it makes the hive guards once again useless enemies hopefully AH has a new direction to take them and I'll trust their method
That being said it was such a small rework and so many people got pissy about it 😭

Thank heavens the helldivers 2 devs listened to us and players didn't have to leave negative reviews to be heard! oh wait... the only feedback that seems to matter comes in the form of compliments or it impacts review scores & warbond sales. I'm tired boss

@Long_shankers That's why it's a 4 player coop game it allows everyone on the squad to play their own way and cover their own weaknesses through team coordination
While randoms can vary in skill I've found my randoms 9/10 times coordinated and fun to work with

They got pissy because their options for fun were reduced. Some people like to go for weak spots, some like to blast into a sea of enemies. Only one option of playstyle was affected. The change was not made to increase fun, it was made to undermine medium pen. Reverting this change was for the best.
It baffles me that people call 'skill issue' or claim it's now harder, and yet nothing was stopping them using light pen before. People refuse to address the issue that multiple playstyles were affected by that change.

@the_wild_jin From my experience and testing I've been able to consistently walk into enemy waves without being destroyed unlike previously when they'd blow up by being tapped

@ARC3ArcThrower Im more concerned about the mechs tbh, I didnt care for the armor upgrade as it directly turns the machine gun sentrys utterly useless, but I didn't think of it as much of an issue, still bs the Patriots gattling cant pen that, or the fact the enemy has more armor thanallvehicles

Most of the new reviews of the game atm are all at 0 hours which says a lot about how often we jump the gun

@ARC3ArcThrower Ngl I was mildly irritated by the change at first when I read it on paper.
But after playing with it for a bit I realized I actually liked the rework and Hive Guards are fun to fight now.
I hope that in the time before it gets changed back people will have the same realization.
