It's incredible that Nigeria's petrol prices - even with new refineries - have risen more than any other African country's despite its huge oil holdings. Nigerian Govt can't seem to manage anything - it never planned for a petrol reserve. Pathetic! reuters.com/sustainability…

The same reason you are struggling to fly across Africa as a Nigerian is the same reason you are struggling to afford to buy a vehicle as a Nigerian. Nigerian regulators and trade enforcement organizations like NCAA, FAAN and Customs think they are revenue generating companies.

I FINALLY DUG OUT THE VIDEO WHERE SUNDAY IGBOHO ONCE THREATENED TO SHOOT TINUBU FROM BEHIND IF HE DECIDED TO CAMPAIGN FOR PRESIDENT INSTEAD OF SUPPORTING HIM TO ACHIEVE YORUBA NATION... He made this video in 2022, few months to presidential campaign, he accused Tinubu of putting his personal ambition of becoming the president above that of Yoruba nation agitation which to him was a selfish and unpatriotic decision. Today, the same flippant and garrulous warrior is threatening other candidates from entering Yoruba land. I hate it when a man is not disciplined. No matter the temptation, I will never support APC and that's the fact. Seeing comfortable people licking their vomits bcos of money and position now is shocking. RETWEET MASSIVELY TILL IT GETS TO THE APPROPRIATE QUARTERS PLS.

@alusi_aku What is annoying in all this is that nothing will happen. Even the soldiers are not angry enough. Fifty human lives slaughtered is not 50 chickens slaughtered

went to odogunyan barracks on friday and my godfather was telling us how 50 soldiers from a battalion, were wiped out by boko haram. his annoyance wasn’t that boko haram wiped out 50 soldiers, during exchange of gunfire. * his annoyance was that a battalion was supposed to have at least 750-800 soldiers but nigeria army assign just around 300 to battalions, so when it’s time to account for payment of salaries, they could pocket the money for the remaining, supposedly 500+ soldiers. * his annoyance was that 50 soldiers of a battalion weren’t supposed to be slaughtered like chicken by inexperienced jihadists fighters. * his annoyance was that, the soldiers were supposed to be the ones with the upper hand and more sophisticated weapons, but reverse was the case. * his annoyance was that, same people giving the soldiers command on attack patterns, were selling same patterns to the terrorists on how to counter attack the soldiers. 50 soldiers gone. 50 lives cut short. 50 families mourning. all because some people want to play the game of politics by putting the lives of others, on the line.

One of my clients just called me. His transcripts have been delayed at Delta State University, Nigeria because the department has not had electricity for two weeks. His admission abroad is now on the verge of being cancelled. He offered to pay for a generator so they could print the transcripts. They said no, they don’t have generator. He asked if the documents could be printed in another department with electricity. They said no, that it is against their policy. What kind of policy is designed to d€stroy people’s opportunities? How can a university allow electricity failure to stop academic records from being issued? How long will basic electricity remain a barrier to progress in Nigeria?

Without immigrants Man U’s starting line up last night would have been three players and the bench would have consisted of just two. Ratcliffe doesn't seem to understand the contribution they make to his own team, let alone this country - but then as he is an immigrant himself being resident of monaco rather than manchester there's obviously a lot of things he's not thought through...

In February 1984, a homeopathic doctor, Ernest Ugo, announced that his team at Calvary Hospital in Enugu had achieved Nigeria’s first in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) delivery, popularly known as a test-tube baby. The claim would spark the country’s hottest scientific controversy of that decade. According to a cover story by The African Guardian: ▶️ The Anambra State branch of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) was the first to dismiss the announcement as a sham. Its chairman, Professor Paul Chuke, and secretary, Dr John Oli, described Ugo’s claim as “false and unfortunate.” They argued that the Enugu team lacked the sophisticated equipment, laboratory facilities, and expertise required for the delicate IVF process. ▶️ Ugo fired back, accusing the NMA leadership of jealousy and of condemning his work without inspecting his laboratory or practice. He mocked orthodox medicine for lagging behind developments in alternative medical practice. ▶️ It took the Buhari regime nearly a year to set up a five-member panel of medical experts to investigate the claim. By then, a team at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) had also announced it was close to achieving an IVF breakthrough. ▶️ During the panel’s visit to Enugu, its chairman, Professor Adesanya Ige Grillo, reportedly asked Ugo’s wife, a Greek doctor who was part of the team, why she did not return to her country to carry out the breakthrough. A Yoruba member of the Enugu team was also asked what he was doing with an Igbo group. ▶️ After the visit, one panel member, Dr Bodunrin Oluwa, a homeopathic practitioner in private practice, resigned in protest, citing Grillo's bias and what he described as the panel’s shabby conduct in Enugu. ▶️ In June 1985, Grillo petitioned the police, accusing Ugo of possessing forged certificates and running an unregistered clinic. He claimed there was no school of homeopathy in Thessaloniki, Greece, where Ugo said he was trained. ▶️ Ugo and other members of his team were detained for 42 days. ▶️ On July 1, 1985, Grillo announced the panel’s findings: the LUTH team was legitimate, while the Enugu team, he said, was made up of frauds not certified to practise homeopathic medicine. ▶️ The Greek school later replied Nigerian authorities, confirming that Dr Ugo’s certificate was genuine. ▶️ However, the Babangida regime upheld the panel’s verdict in an announcement on May 1, 1986. The statement said Dr Ugo's claim could "dent the credibility of Nigeria within and outside the country." ▶️ During its own investigation, The African Guardian interviewed two parents who said they had struggled with infertility until they participated in Ugo’s trials and each later had a child. ▶️ The news magazine concluded that the scandal ultimately was about the unresolved tension between orthodox medical practice and alternative medicine in Nigeria.

@BlehisBack Churches now have a No-Photography zone. Especially here in the UK where data protection is a huge deal. Just sit in that area and you won't be captured by the cameras. Easier than tags, cos if you're wearing one between 2ppl not wearing, you might inadvertently be recorded
