I welcome the news from the Prime Minister today that Meghan Quinn PSM will be appointed as the next Secretary of the Department of Defence. Ms Quinn has had a distinguished career, including her current role as the Secretary of the Department of Industry, Science and Resources. She will take on the role of Defence Secretary next month and in doing so will be the first woman to substantively hold the position.
