@BuggPuppet @cannibalyaoiyum @prototypell Hermaphrodite wasn't always a slur. It became a slur due to misuse. Futanari is the direct translation for Hermaphrodite, and doesn't have the same history or connotation. It would be like calling the word "Negro" from Spanish a slur, connecting it with what it became in english.

Just found out my company is in a lawsuit because someone hacked our customer database two years ago and we never told anyone. I didn't know about the hack. Nobody told IT. Turns out our VP of Sales discovered it, decided it wasn't "that bad" and just... didn't report it. To anyone. Including me. Now we're in federal court and the lawyers are asking me why our security was so weak. I genuinely don't know. Because nobody told me we got hacked. I can't defend against threats I don't know exist. The VP of Sales is blaming IT for "inadequate security measures." I'm sitting in depositions explaining that I can't implement security for breaches I'm not informed about. My CEO pulled me aside and asked if I can "make this go away technically." Make what go away? The hack happened two years ago. The data's been on the dark web for 18 months. He suggested maybe I could "show we've upgraded security since then." We have upgraded security. But not because of the hack. Because I do routine upgrades. Now I have to pretend we did a comprehensive security overhaul in response to a breach nobody told me about.

It’s kind of interesting that across all possible viewpoints of the younger generation one of the most widely held beliefs is that the boomers completely dogfucked us and are continuing to dogfuck us, but nobody can decide what should be done about it.

@i_heartmisandry @SirBadOpinions Hard to give it an exact date, but around 200-500 years ago. Karl Marx wrote a good book about it in 1867.

@SirBadOpinions The problem is thinking every boomer is like this. There are more struggling boomers in mobile homes than 5x house-owning boomers, but that of course gets you no engagement.

@beardedcakeman @Aluereon @SJWheeljack I'm very sorry that your substandard nobody couldnt beat the former Vice President of the most popular Democrat president of the past several decades in a fair election. I'm praying for your recovery from your incredible half-decade long asspain.

@StealYourDeacon @SJWheeljack Then why was there a lawsuit about them defrauding the primary election He won, and the DNC used their superdelegate policy to give the primary to Hillary instead.

@John_J_Marlin @SJWheeljack I know there's a problem and it needs fixing but there's a much bigger more glaring problem which requires much more urgent fixing. We can work on the first after we get rid of the second.

@SJWheeljack Except when the DNC decides "no we're going to nominate who we want" like they did in 2016 when Bernie actually won the vote, but Hillary was selected as the candidate due to "superdelegates." The DNC doesn't care who is voted in the primary. google.com/amp/s/observer…

okay so the big thing I'm learning in the replies is that many of you don't understand how presidential nominees are selected. I know 2024 was a bit of an exception but the nominee is usually decided on by the voters themselves.

Ok here is the answer: It is really, really loud. As loud as it could possibly be—over 120dB, measured up to 125. My phone will likely compress it, but you can hear it reverberate off of the walls.

I designed an MRI-safe torque wrench that can be printed in place in a single piece on a Fuse 1+. Doesn’t rely on friction so it keeps 0.6Nm after hundreds of cycles. It works great but has one MAJOR flaw—can anyone guess from the pictures?

Holy fucking shit is right! This is not DoorDash, and I would fire anyone who promoted or tolerated the kind of culture described in this Reddit post. There’s so much wrong with this post. - Dashers are not “human assets.” - Having a metric like a "Desperation Score” is an abomination. - We’ve never had a “Driver Benefit Fee”. - Why would you charge for faster delivery but not make it faster?? We’re not perfect by *any* stretch of the imagination, but we work every day to make our platform better for everyone who comes to it. What’s described here is appalling, and if true, whoever is operating in this manner should be ashamed.

@MarushiaDark @tnega74 To give UBI of 1200 per month to those who actually need it (cant work/dont have any skills) you would only really need to pay for about 50 or so million people, at 14,400 a person, youre looking at 769 billion/year. Also known as *less than we pay Israel every year.*

@tnega74 Again, 2/3 of the budget is spend just on bribing poor people (Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security) and you wanna add Universal Healthcare and UBI on top of that. That's more in-line with socialism than with capitalism. That's trillions more than all the bailouts / subsidies.

Church bells provide a melody with NO WORDS. The Muslim call to prayer is a religious declaration of their god being above all gods and the only true god. That is NOT America to allow one religion to force its beliefs to be declared in their city, their neighborhood or in their homes as it permeates all those places.

@rafal0077 @magnickcat @HorrorHijabi Except she didnt cite it. A single time. She didnt quote a single passage. She just said "the Bible says this" with no backing. She didnt specify which Bible, she didnt use any proper scripture notation, she failed to properly cite her sources in a scholarly work.

@magnickcat @HorrorHijabi It is a perfectly acceptable source to cite to explain your FEELINGS, which is exactly what the paper asked for. The teacher was clearly discriminating and has no place teaching at a university

@FinTwitGL @financedystop Unironically? The wages that doordash pay their drivers literally are so low it wouldnt even be worth automating it. Drivers get 2 dollars an order from doordash and they pocket the rest. The rest of thebmoney they make is from the customers tip. No, I'm not lying to you.

DoorDash stop-and-drop orders seem wildly unprofitable. You wait 30+ minutes for the customer, scan 20+ items, and walk away with eight dollars.
