The LGBTQIA+ community is making a boundary. We are saying that groups who want to cut people out of our community are not welcome in our spaces. Not because we fear debate, but because exclusion is not debate. It is harm. If someone wants to build politics around removing people’s rights, dignity, or safety, there are already spaces for that. Those spaces exist. They just are not ours. We choose community. We choose solidarity. We choose people over ideology. You cannot claim to stand for liberation while aligning yourself with movements that mirror fascism in language and method. At some point, everyone has to decide where they stand. We stand with humans. We stand with each other. We are not interested in sharing our spaces with hate.

She might not be here to say it. But let’s not let death stop Janey Godley from giving the middle finger to Donald Trump. Let’s do it for dear friend Janey.
